Hiya!
I'm in dire need of help with a major decision; what filling should I use for the onigiris that I'll be making for my friend? I've checked online for the best fillings, and I'm usually pointed towards tuna and mayo but...that ain't fancy enough for me So, could y'all recommend something for me, please?:3

I'd go with whatever your friend happens to enjoy that goes well with rice.

Pulling from:

if you're looking to put a bit more effort into the fillings maybe try some chicken karaage, tenmusu, or ikura.

Are you using them as part of the meal, and if so, as a before or after thing? Because you don't have to put just meal or regular stuff in your onigiris, you can put sweet things in them instead to make them as a sort of dessert thing, like putting jelly or something like that in them. Just an idea. I've made onigiri just once before, but I didn't put anything inside of them, they were just plain with the nori strip to hold them on the bottom.

I like to make something with a sticky sauce - like chicken teriyaki. Something that stays together well inside the onigiri. I usually mix it with pickled ginger and some kind of crunchy vegetable (carrots, or radish) for texture.

It was the meal, so stuffing them was necessary^-^ But I would be interested in trying the plain ones, being as how simple that would be:3 Also, I actually did make it also as a dessert with his favorite chocolate (Turtles)!
