Trumo doesn't inform the media
> media bashes him for tyranny, "how dare he didn't invite us over like previous Pres"

Trump informs the media
> media tells Hillary supporters, anti-Trump people the exact time and location so they can organize their protests accordingly
> angry mobs gather near the restaurant and start breaking windows, blocking traffic, etc. of course, Trump is blamed for the unruly behavior by the media.

Are we really going to demonize someone going out for a family dinner?

Sure they are. They are also demonizing him for daring to not take a presidential salary. I think at this point, Trump could cure cancer and he would still somehow be made out to be a demon because of it.

This is part of the reason why nobody listens to mainstream media anymore. Everything is breaking news, everything is end of the world and people are fed up with it.

That was rhetorical, a question of incredulity to point out how fucked we are by the media. A cleaner version of "Oh no she didn't!" But unfortunately, they did.

I know that, but sadly I had to also mention another example in the last 24 hours of "news." I wouldn't say we are fucked by the media, since as more people just turned off that biased, mindless crap the sooner we are going to get real objective news again.
I think a part of the reason why news networks are such a joke now is that due to the consolidation of networks, we have 5 or 6 conglomerates controlling everything so its much easier to get away with such shameless reporting without any real competition.

Luckily with the internet, there are more ways one can learn about what is going on in the world.

I don't see anyone "demonizing" him. But the fact of the matter is it was a serious break with protocol. The president-elect ( and the president ) can't just sneak off without the press corp. Regardless of how seemingly benign the reason. Add that this is the second time he's ditched them and yeah, you can see why they might be upset.

The guy gave interviews non-stop and 2-3 speeches a day that the media covered. I think if we miss out on the first joke made at the table and whether and what type of steak he prefers we can still sleep well. The media is acting like he is not accessible? I'd argue he has easily been the most accessible candidate in recent times. Does anyone forgot him calling into networks or showing up on shows whenever the networks wanted to do an interview while most other candidates turned them down.

Heck, even some liberals I know found this as ridiculous. I can understand that maybe the news week is slow, but geez, maybe we could take 5 minutes to talk about what is going on in the rest of the world for once, it's not going to kill them.

the point is, Trump should have asked the media permission to have a family dinner.
he didn't follow the rules.

This is much more of an issue with the 24 hour news cycle than with anyone attacking Trump.

The president has to address the nation once a year during the state of the union. Besides that he can tell them to piss off the other 364 days. There was no breech of protocol its just he isn't turning everything he does into a photo shoot like Obama did and the press got butthurt on a slow news day (Well when you ignore everything he is actually doing, the liberals going bat shit crazy, assange not being seen for almost a month, and Hillary preparing for prison).

Actually no, he can't. The president is always accompanied by the press corp and yes it is a breech of protocol. You don't get Me Time(tm) anymore when you are heading the most powerful nation on Earth.

Whatever, dude. Even Obama keeps the press away when he don't want them hearing what he gotta say. For example, when he spoke privately with Trump....

Perhaps the two of you should actually look up what the protective pool is and does.
