I don't cause I don't see the need for it. Sure positive affirmations are good within the right context but some people get way to fixated and obsessed with them to the point of living in their own delusional world of sunshine and rainbows, but deep inside there's this inner chaos of confusion. It seems to me that people who do that type of stuff tend to repress the hell out of themselves, are engaged with heaps of self deceit, and see no worth in anything outside of happiness and joy, I don't see how that's very human or real tbh.

I think you can just have a attitude of I'm gonna do this cause I have a burning desire/interest to do so and work hard towards that knowing that life inherently holds hardships of all kinds and there is no escape, simply cause there is no where to escape to cause you don't live in a prison...well other than illusory one you fashioned for yourself.

As long as you don't get myopic with it I think it's fine if the practice resonates with you and produces results.

When I play trumpet, I use negative affirmations, telling myself that I suck at every phrase I play, and when I crack notes I have to practice to not crack them. While it may lower my self esteem for a time, I do eventually make up for it with extra practice

Without positive affirmations, the world would be a pretty horrible place to live.

Ya cause affirmation is one of the main expressions of love you can give to someone. A lot of good people think that they're bad people and can fail to see the good in them. Words of affirmation can go a long way to helping people see their own worth. Imagine a world where no one encouraged or praised anyone, that's a pretty sad and socially desolate one imo
