I wouldn't find someone just for the sake of a replacement husband, but I'd be open to finding someone else. Who else would make me dinner

That does seem the rational thing to do in that situation.

Depends if I had kids, my age and my wealth.

If I have a few kids, get taken to the cleaners by divorce lawyers I'd definitely avoid getting a 2nd civil marriage. That is not to say I wouldn't find another partner/long term girlfriend but I couldn't afford to do that a 2nd time.

I know people in there 50s who have been divorced once and have had a long-term gf/bf in lieu of a 2nd marriage. I'd imagine it is in part for similar reasons.

Same here (with a qualifier). Although single most of my life I almost married an individual who suffered from Manic-Depression back in 2003. I won't go into the details about why but I can say that relationship end (6 months of pure hell, $15K financing that relationship) should have reinforced reasons to remain single. With her I had the dubious distinction that, although not married at the time, I sure knew what divorce was like.

Skip this part if you wish, it's just unresolved drama:

Do wish I had a copy of the sheriff's phone transcript taping the legality why I could move her off my property (no children between us, no joint ownership of home / car, common law community property laws didn't apply in this state) when she attempted my arrest for theft of her belongings (yeah, right...I had to underwrite expense of United Van Lines moving 15K pounds of her stuff from the abode in question into a bonded warehouse for 30-days until she could find new quarters....against advice of my family lawyer who suggested end of driveway was adequate.

Yea, internet. I found my partner via eHarmony. No regrets, not even.........
