I'm bring back an old post I saw on Crunchyroll http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2011/10/30-1/how-much-does-one-episode-of-anime-cost-to-make

Now I'm curious as to how really anime production studio earn money. For instance, the most popular anime Naruto, what is the total amount of money the anime production studio gained from it and what is it from? For instance, the anime is broadcasted on the television, is there a stock gain on the film and how much stock is sold for each anime. If the merchandise land figurines are sold, how much money is made through the them. If the video are sold, how much is earned through that. And lastly, if the copyright is given to Crunchyroll, how much does Crunchyroll need to pay for them ?

I'm curious as to how much money Funimation earns for how much it spends as well.

For all the dub hating and pirating out there, they're still kicking.

Hmm I wish the day when region blocking is no longer a thing
These anime companies could earn so much money without region blocking... in theory.

They don't get much money from us or the anime itself (Not saying they don't get any but not enough)
It's from the merch they make 75% percent of each one they sell. Blu-rays and DVD's also make 50% profits.

If the anime is good as well and airs on TV,they will make a little bit of money from the channel airing there anime. (CR Included)
They also have ads on there streaming service which they get paid for.

Then there's anyone else that wants rights. (The one's who make statues and stuff.)

That's why the best way to support anime is buying some sort of merch item or the dvd/blu ray sets.
