awesome! we can now start.. now... we'll follow the storyline of course... but the problem..... what happens when not everybody is here, or if someone dies? i don't know what to do for that... if someone dies... maybe they can have a backup character.. or that character can be used until the next day/battle?? and i still need help with a damage system and exp. system, and a skills system for each character!! so someone plz work on that if you can.. then just post it here or pm it to me or Jamy...

Okay, My first question is what storyline? We have characters ranging back from Fire Emblem: Ankoku Ryū to Hikari no Tsurugi, to Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, so there doesn't seem to be a Fire Emblem storyline that's already been made that we can use. I think that some of you/us would have to make a storyline specifically for this cast of characters, one that can incorporate ALL of the lords we have (Roy, Ike, Hector, Marth, and Lyn) and can make all the villains that people chose a large part of our story.

As far as the Damage system, we could adopt a sort of D&D approach to it mixed in with Fire Emblem. For example, we could use an online dice roller (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dnd/20040517a) and couple it up with Fire Emblem Stats, such as Strength, Skill, and Speed for hit chance, damage, and critical%. I don't know, that seems to be a laborious road to go down.

Experience and leveling should be handled as it would in the game. i.e. Soldiers wouldn't yield a much experience as a knight, or a myrmidon, and Bosses would be instant level ups. Each player could do some looking on their character to see ho they started/would have started, and can post their stats here. So a sheet for Hector might look like this:
Hector
Level: 1
Class: Lord
Stats:
Strength: 7
Skill: 4
Speed: 5
Luck: 3
Defense: 8
Res: 0
Move: 5

Even though this would leave room for fun, colorful battles, it would instill the traditional luck-of-the-draw feel of Fire Emblem. Leveling stats, of course, would be done randomly.

I say we don't deal with "Dieing" as they do in the game. The character would merely be knocked unconscious, and would be able to fight again in the next battle.

Which brings me to my next point, battles. I think that their should be some collaboration among the game masters in order to render a battlefield suitable for 26 characters, and then someone with good photoshop skills to make it real. These are just thoughts, though, and the battles can be handled in any way the RP master deems fit.

The hardest thing to manage would be people who aren't online a lot. We'll deal with that constantly in battles, and I would be inclined to say wipe whoever was fighting out for that battle, or take control of that person's character for the duration of the fight.

I still think that the main focus of this RP (as with the games) should be dialog, and the storyline should involve plenty of drama, politics, and romance for easy character development. But this brings about the problem of whether or not people can fit into their characters. But, that problem can be dealt with when we get to it.

All these are just sort of a overlook on all of the things Jamy needs, and I'd be more than willing to really look into anything that you guys need me to.

Hmm we also still need a title. Ex - "Fire Emblem ~ A Tale of a New World" Not that we're going to use it or anything. Everyone, I thank you all for joining and being a great help. We should start the RP when we have everything we need. When that's done, we can have the RP in a new thread and the title of the thread will be the title of our RP. For the people who will be not as active, we can use them for side characters if you want. The main characters can be the active people in the RP. And for the story, we could change how the person is. Like Roy can become a villian if we wanted to. Or he can even weild a bow. But that's for all of us to decide. Let's leave more ideas so we can finally start this =]

Also, leave ideas on what you want the title to be

useful things

I will quote myself from the past pages. This is fire emblem elements that are common and good for use:

Yeah, I'll help making the gif fights (if you know sites with sprites then please tip me).
Basic storyline elements in fire emblem

Suddenly a country start taking over land and becoming evil though it usually wasn't, they kill the (whole) royal family and takes over that (your) country.
The main character(s) is the only surviving heir who (somehow) managed to escape and is now on a quest to take that country back.
Mercenaries will play a big part in this (pretagonist or just a great amount of new recruits).
You will have a neighbouring country to rely on or at least get some help at from (the heirs (you and them) often know each other) and the first objective is to meet up with them.
You will take (millions of) side-tracks to help people and then end up with new recruits, for example the first thing you do is that you'll usually see a nearby village get attacked and see people trying to help them but they are in a pinch so you rush in to aid.
A third party will soon be introduced.
It doesn't matter who your facing, you will still get to see how powerful the lot you're up against really are (probably in a battle).
After a while you while notice that there is a higher power behind all of this and that thing has a dark past concurning the third party, the pretagonists, antagonists and the world.
You will see that you power alone is not enough and you will need to get (a) legendary weapon(s) to defeat it.
There are more than one ending.

Recruits:
You will be a lord ("duh" yeah I know) who will be accompanied by a veteran paladin.
First new recruits will be two (why is it always two?) knights/cavaliers.
Past wyvern knights who you first saw as enemies will later be your friends.
There will be at least one pwning, astonishing and simply ****ing awesome swordmaster to your service while carrying a great weapon (the bastard always tend to be a bother to get).
There will be a "one of a kind" character that also pwns all (except the last boss >.>) appears very (VERY) late in the story for your service.
There will be a sever lack of black people (this is a joke but it's also true).
Your gonna have at least one knight/general which you can whore and guys who is overpowered in the beginning but suck in the end.

For you who red this probably noticed that this has been used many times in the fe series, use it now too,

(sorry for double posting but it would only have been to big if I continued).
We'll make the title after we have made the story so we can make it related to it. But for pete's sake do not have that simple and boring title like the 6th, 7th and 8th one: Fire emblem blasing sword/sword of seals/sacred stones. We need epic once like "path of radiance" and "radiant dawn".

I'm kinda confused since I got the RP part and the fact that we'll make gif battles but now that geshnurphia introduced stats, I'm starting to wonder if we're gonna do a game too. Are we?

Btw, this guy is semi-active right now; just let me finish radiant dawn then I'll be back (arnold reference).

hmm about instead of taking the typical take back the lost kingdom approach why not have the story revolve around a rebellion to over throw some evil king. i think that would be an intersesting approach.

some of the lords could be part of the royal family but disagreed with the way the king was doing things and got chased out of the castle where they end up meeting the other lords who are the leaders of the rebellion that has started
and then they get allies to help them fight back ect.

and about people might not be on alot you don't have to involve them in battles and stuff all the time their character could be on an errand or somehting and they could be non essential to the story line

oh yeah we also have to make some decisions on classes since some vary from game to game
for ex a valkyrie in Fe7 use anima magic in sacred stones they wield light magic and in path of radiance she has a sword
or
archsage in Fe7 athos is able to use all magic in radiant dawn they just use all anima magic and staves i personally think we should go with Fe7 version of archsage
same goes for sages i liked it better when they could use all anima magic instead of specializing in one kind

we are doing the radiant dawn 3 class system instead of the standard 2 class system right?

The story has to be pretty novel. We should try some sort of epic concept that's never been done before.

eh i made a story, well the base of one, it okish... well you can stick with it discard it or fix it up or what ever.
Its long.

Fire Emblem: Divided Fronts

The kingdom of Aberaith, a powerful kingdom that has prospered from the new found peace. Trade is good, the peasants are content with the fair taxes, and traders travel from as far away as the Tasonel, on the far sides of the world, just to be able to visit the grand and beautiful lord city, the crown jewel of the kingdom of Aberaith, Tenathgal. In the city of Tenathgal there are 3 main attractions: The Kings Palace, the headquarters of the Order Of Wisdom, and lastly the shrine of the holy emblem of fire. This mystical emblem is really not an emblem at all, it is rather a sword forced from the Finest silver, and forged with craftsmanship that has yet be to been seen from any mortal smith, and in the pommel the mystical dragon crystal is inlayed the sword blessed by the gods, and given to humans by the fabled race of dragons after the ancient war of scouring. This sacred object has been guarded by the royal family of Aberaith, and even to this day the royal family has guarded it.
From what they guard this sword from is unknown, but before giving the sword to the human during the end of the war, the dragons told the human king: “This sword will set the world ablaze in flame, whether those flames are the flames of rebirth or the flames of destruction has yet to be decided, but heed my words well human, the most appealing path may not be the right path.” The king replied “True this is a fine sword, and can be deadly in skilled warrior’s hands, but you surely jest that this weapon can destroy our world.” The dragon responded “yes, the weapon is but a sword it can not destroy a world. What makes it important is the person, who shall come to wield it, he is the one who will change the world, not the sword itself.” And with those the dragon departed, his last world echoing in the wind.
But that was in the past, now several hundred years after the end of the war of scouring, the mythical powers of the fire emblem has become not more then a legend, sung by traveling bards, and never taken seriously by anyone other then young children. The world has fought many wars after the war scouring, the most recent The Theorican war, just ended a few years ago. As said before Aberaith is a prosperous kingdom, the former king has recently deceased from eating “tainted” food. And the queen’s uncle the kings adviser Geratean has stepped up to claim the throne. He says he will give the throne to prince Marth, and Roy when reach a “suitable” age, but everyone knows a suitable age for Geratean is when both princes are decrepit old men. Geratean has no though of relinquishing the throne to anyone. Geratean is already making plans to expand the kingdom of Aberaith. He already has his sights set on the neighboring kingdoms of Vingaul, and Wintarm. Prince Marth and Roy have both decieded they would flee their kingdom, they were strongly against starting the war. And so many of the retainers that were still loyal to their former king has decided to help smuggle the 2 princes out of the kingdom, for fear that Wintarm will want to silence their cries for peace.
Most of the members of the Senate also disagreed with their new king about starting the war. But those Senators that degreed started to “disappear”, Wintarm eventually persuaded (scared and bribed) most the senators to agree to his plan of war. Several of the kingdoms best generals has decided to leave the army, and formed the resistance group called the Trinity. The where about of the 3 generals and information of their group are unknown. They have not yet attack any of the supply wagons that are bring equipment for war, nor have they harassed the army yet. And so our story starts, the nation is soon to be at war with itself, the heir to the throne are trying to escape the chaos.

(Summary)
The kingdom of Aberaith is about to go into civil war, to fight againest
their new king who wants to destory the peace that was so hard fought for.
The princes Marth and Roy, are fleeinig the kingdom, but haven't made it
out YET. And some of the kingdoms generals have broken away and formed
resistance force Trinity. ( i was gonna write more like Marth and Roy while
escaping get intercepted and captured by the Trinity forces, and they ally with
them and try to help fight against the king yady yada yada that kind of junk.)

The title was good.

Liked that you were able to alter the scouring war in fe7 to something epic and different.

You created a fire emblem which is kinda simple (since it's a sword) but it fits.

I didn't understand why the Wintarm would want to go to war against the Aberaith though; why were they bribed?

The thing with having two lords is gonna be a bother since there can only be one king (and the fact that you need a queen, or else you will only be a duke). We could supposedly have one that shall rule Aberaith in the end and that one is the chosen to wield the fire emblem.

Several generals don't really make three one's. But we could have them simply lead a small resistance group ( 'cause a three-man army plus marth and roy sounds a little small).

i think this could work if we clean it up a bit
i think when he said Wintarm might try to silence them i think he meant Geratean also i think he meant that the 3 generals are leading a resistance force. and if we are going with this storyline we need to decide which characters will be the 3 generals since they would be more involved with the story they are going to have to be the characters of our more active members
