I could go a month without setting my trash out but every week my recycling "barrel" is full (We have large recycling bins about the volume of an oil barrel).

Recycling is one of the best things you can do for this planet and its super simple I am cereal!

I cycle down the road, and then I cycle back up it; therefore, I do re-cycle!

Seriously, though, sort of. I don't sort garbage for recycling because I would have to haul it myself, since waste management here doesn't pick up recyclables. It isn't really worth the drive I would have to make to drop it off at a bin for someone else to make money off of it. There are services that pickup, but again, why would I spend money for someone else to make money off my garbage--to which ends I say: fuck the environment!

That aside, I try to repurpose materials that would otherwise end up in a landfill--electronic parts, broken furniture, and whatnot. Organic material goes out for compost and waste oils are filtered and used for fuel in my shop.

I basically recycle everywhere but at my home. Where I live it costs extra to have things recycled AND you have to rent the recycle trash can yearly. If it's not in that container they won't pick it up. It's like they WANT to make it hard. >_<

In my city, they only collect garbage every other week. Might not be too bad in a smaller home or with fewer people, but for me, if I didn't compost and recycle (which is collected on the alternate week to garbage), it would pile up pretty quickly.

I recycle, regardless, but it would be grossly impractical if I didn't while I live here.
