Most of these aren't available in Europe at all.

Wonder why just season one of assaination classroom

Given that they gave us both series for Arslan, one does wonder. I expect CR will get the second series eventually, hopefully before the end of the year.

When you say UK and Ireland, is that including any other parts of Europe as if this were a generalization for English speaking countries - considering all the included are English speaking countries? Any word on whether Germany is included in that? ;)

Funimation is unlikely to have a license that covers any part of Europe beyond the UK, Ireland, and sometimes (but not this time) many of the Nordic countries.

Keep in mind this isn't CR going out and getting new licenses for Funimation titles, it is titles Funimation has the license to being made available on CR.

But there was one thing that bothered me: could we please NOT have yellow subtitles again? Funimation is great, but they have favored yellow subtitles in the past as well and I assume this is a part of why we had it here (initially I assumed they were hard-subbed). Sure yellow on black is highly visible and readable, but it's also too massive of an attention-draw. Its hard contrast is a constant reminder of how much of the screen is obstructed with the opaque overlay.

It should be noted that both FMA titles were provided to CR by Aniplex, not Funimation (Funimation's license for both expired earlier this year).

FYI, I checked the first 3 titles, and only see the usual standard (white) subtitles when viewed in the web browser.

I take it you are a "glass half empty" type.

Even if you counted Arslan as 2 titles instead of one, literally half of them are available in the UK.

In the news article, someone pointed out that Ping Pong and Barakamon were available in (parts) of Asia. It turns out that the countries listed in the "<media:restriction relationship="allow" type="country">" tag cover quite a bit more than the territories listed in the announcement (including parts of Europe beyond the UK and Ireland [I've spotted the Netherlands, Romania, and Italy just glancing through]).

I don't know if the wrong tags were applied to these shows (if so, watch them quickly), or if the territories listed in the announcement were incorrect, but here are the country codes listed for both shows as of the time I posted this:

Barakamon:

ca pr us vi bh cx cc cy ir iq il jo kw lb om ps qa sa sy ae ye ax al ad at by be ba bg hr cz dk ee fo fi fr de gi gr gg va hu is ie im it je lv li lt lu mk mt md mc me nl no pl pt ro ru sm rs sk si es sj se ch tr ua gb as au gu nz mp um dz km dj eg ly mr ma so za sd tn eh

Ping Pong:

ca pr us vi bh cy ir iq il jo kw lb om ps qa sa sy ae ye ax al ad at by be ba bg hr cz dk ee fo fi fr de gi gr gg va hu is ie im it je lv li lt lu mk mt md mc me nl no pl pt ro sm rs sk si es sj se ch tr ua gb as gu mp um dz km dj eg er ly mr ma so za sd tn

UPDATE: Mystery solved. The regions are no mistake, as both series were announced as a simulcast (outside of the US, Canada, UK, etc.) back when they aired:

Barakamon: http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-856853/new-summer-titles-yamishibai-2-and-barakamon

Ping Pong: http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-845735/new-spring-titles-nananas-buried-treasure-ping-pong-the-animation-is-the-order-a-rabbit-dai-shogun-great-revolut

If you are in any of those regions and either series was available, but not in English, it would be interesting to know if that has changed now.

See my message above and try both titles. The code for Denmark ("dn") is listed for both.

You may want to try the other titles also, just to make certain.

This got me really excited. Maybe this time crunchy finally noticed South America?

It's just depressing, really. Like watching your neighbor recieve that cool new game and when you open your gift, it's just a pair of socks.

Oh, wow, new shows!
Let's see how many I can watch...

US, Canada, US, Canada, US, Canada, oh, there's a few UKs too.
Ah, well... nothing for my region again.

It's good to see that those $60 a year are proving to be such a sound investment.
