For the past week, maybe two, Crunchyroll web pages (videos and forums) have been stalling during load, waiting for or transferring data from google.com, apis.google.com, Google Analytics, stats.g.doubleclick.net and staticxx.facebook.com.

For video playback, the stalls prevent the video from loading. A work-around is to stop the loading of the page (ESC key), upon which the Flash Player plugin loads and the video begins streaming.

During this same time period, video playback (via the browser) has intermittently lagged, pixelated, or become less responsive to seeks (it was streaming very well before). This seems to be the result of bottlenecks within the browser or page (e.g. a blocking function call) rather than CPU or download speed. CPU utilization barely exceeds 20%, and network usage hangs around 2 Mbps. I am using Firefox (version 50.0 as of this writing) on a Windows 10, 64-bit platform, 2.5 GHz i5. ISP is Comcast, 16 Mbps, as measured via SpeakEasy from the system in the viewing location.

Whatever the issue was, it seems to be resolved.
