Watched this ages ago, still one of my favorite animes. The light novels are pretty good too. This needs a third season.

Now THIS is how you do a light novel story. Take notes, people.

It is the best of the generic trash genre. 10/10 would recommend.

Perfect example of a piece of work/media that acts as a transition from the 2000s-2010s. My favorite from J.C.Staff's 'trilogy' of sorts (Shakugan no Shana and Familiar of Zero), it has memorable characters, great action scenes, and plotlines that have above-average drama and explored great topics like science vs. magic and Japan's educational system.

Funimation's dub for the anime (and especially the entire series) is one of their best during the aforementioned transition, and featured a great English cast both new and veteran to Funi with VA's like Micah Solusod, Monica Rial, Brittney Karbowski, Austin Tindle, Newton Pittman, Jād Saxton, Alison Viktorin, Cherami Leigh, Brina Palencia, Carrie Savage, Luci Christian, Jamie Marchi, Trina Nishimura, Leah Clark, Anastasia Muñoz, Robert McCollum and Morgan Garrett.

One of my goto gateway drugs for people who want to get into anime and I really hope that J.C.Staff gets back to producing this series cause there's a lot of plot threads and character developments that need to be animated.

I've rewatched this series at least five times now. Favorite anime series out there. If I went into a discussion, it'd be long.

Tried to watch it once; didn't get into it and dropped after a few episodes. And now it seems it was pretty forgettable because I can't remember any of what I watched.

Was it the first 4 episodes? Those first episodes are indeed incredibly boring. It picked up for me at episode 5 and continued to get better and better, eventually reaching a special place in my heart. Even after all this time I'm positively fizzing in anticipation of the third season and its World War III arc. I prefer Railgun overall but that's only because Railgun and Railgun S are among my absolute favourite anime. I doubt I would've started Railgun though if it wasn't for this rare instance of me pushing myself through something I dislike.

I tried starting it once, but dropped it because it was boring. Maybe I need to give it another shot

Oh definitely! It shows the science side of the Raildex universe and puts Academy City into a different perspective, tells its tale through short stories that sprinkle plot threads throughout that hints at what's to come in future episodes, and the mostly female cast are memorable and standout so well, Mikoto Misaka being one of the best female anime characters in the past 10 years.
