I got a confession letter in my locker in high school. It was disguised as a happy birthday card, and totally flew over my head despite being full of compliments and an invitation to hang out more.

She hated me after that.

Being a loner at the back of the classroom. I was always in the room before everyone else. And someone talked to me because she said I looked lonely. I appreciated the gesture.

In reality, I just don't talk to people at school due to lack of common ground and common interests. I will talk to them and chit chat if they talk to me, but I wouldn't say I can be their friend.

I've been to many open air hot springs and stayed at places identical to what you see in anime. Also dressed in the jinbei they provide you.

Did the traditional drinking party several times at bars in Japan. We got our own room and got happy drunk.

Went to a Summer festival and did the kingyo/goldfish game (I got a couple) And went around eating typical festival food.

Went to a shrine on New Year eve.

Went to a maid cafe', but it wasn't anything like it was in anime. It was actually uncomfortable and creepy.

Looking for Bananya plushies, gachapon machine, or UFO/crane machines around Akihabara with the fiance...ended up in an anime hentai dungeon a few times. Also Robot Restaurant..holy shit.

Other than that, we went to a place called Museum Cafe in Ikebukuro. It's the place that Ishida Sui used for the (MANGA SPOILER) :re cafe in Tokyo Ghoul. I ended up talking about how we came from NY to see the place and the only employee at the time took out an original drawing by the mangaka and a message book for him. This mangaka is a very secretive person. He never revealed his appearance and never attended a signing or manga/anime event for TG (maybe incognito). Most of the people who left drawings and letters are from Japan but there were a few from the US and Europe.

All my underclassmen in hs called me "senpai" and I was adored by literally dozens upon dozens of kouhais, many of which developed crushes on me. I would receive hand baked cookies and cupcakes from girl kouhais who had the dokis for me on valentine's day and my birthdays. They were all so cute, they'd swarm me when I came to the club room, lunchtime, or in the hallway I was the most popular in the student leadership of the club. In a lot of ways I really miss those days. Those kouhais will still call me senpai when we see each other again. I came back to visit on their senior years and I walked away sick from the sheer number of hugs.
