I don't use this most of the time

unless when i'm using online banking via a secured connection

I don't see the point of using Private/Incognito mode when using a public wi-fi either

some think that it will help against wi-fi snooping ? yeah. .. sure

don't log into your personal accounts (especially bank accounts) on your phone using public wi-fi

I do it when watching porn so it doesn't show up in my history.

I don't use incognito mode, I just use my password protected laptop a lot, mostly for assignments and studying.

Besides, anyone who sees my browsing history ends up missing anyways.

you can set it in the settings

for firefox -- it's in the privacy

"do not remember history" or something similar

pretty much it will wipe out all browsing history when you close the firefox window

While it is true that it prevents records of your browsing activity from being stored on your computer, it does NOT prevent your ISP or the websites you visit from logging those details.

I use it for a temporary new window that can't replace the tabs in my main window if I were to accidentally close the main window first. It's infuriating for me to have to manually reopen all of my pinned tabs when that happens.

I use it to quickly search for things that I know are embarrassing & don't want showing up in my history. I'm not going to look up the definition of obviously-sexual slang terms in a normal browser since I don't want to have to clear out history/cookies over one little thing.
If I really needed to do something without anyone knowing I'd just use Tor. :\

I always use it. Like, always. I don't want to bother erasing my history every time i use the internet.

I don't use it often. If anything once in a while I'll just clear history , cookies, and cache, etc.

On public WIFI it does nothing. All it does is create an isolated environment for cookies and cache. I used to use it when shopping to prevent facebook from knowing what I was looking at on amazon because they saved my search history on a cookie.

HTTPS is the only thing that prevents WIFI snooping as everything is sent encrypted.

I use it because I don't like to take the time and reset my browser history. Also all my passwords are randomly generated so it would take some time to figure them all out again.

I will use incognito on a mobile device but on PC I have Firefox set to not save history. Heck I've restricted the program from even writing to my drive, or saving anything to clipboard.

I don't use it, My history and cache get deleted automatically when I close my browser. Every couple of days I run CCleaner to free up space, if if there is something sensitive it has a secure delete option. Both my PC and Tablet have TPMs installed so I use also use BitLock.

I have a VPN for untrustworthy WiFi.

There are ways you can see other people network traffic. Having the Wifi password makes it that much easier.
There also people who will set up fake hotspots and monitor the traffic going through them. It also why you should never allow your device to
auto connect to WiFi Hotspots you don't control since in case of an SSID conflict most WiFi cards with preferentially connect to the strongest signal.
