If you could choose what traits you inherited from your genetics..

If you could choose what traits you inherited from your parents, what would you choose?

Looks-wise: I think it would be pretty cool to have red hair/freckles.

Personality-wise: I'd like to have my mom's workaholic nature. It sounds crappy but I'd rather be a workaholic than be failing at life.

If I could, I would un-choose the receding hairline my dad's genetic share was kind enough to dump on me..... ¬_¬ Thanks, Dad.

I would choose the naturally thin gene that so lovingly skipped me and hit my brother and sister, for whatever reason. I have to work super hard just to be average, while they can eat everything they want and hardly ever work out.

I'd say I notice what I don't want. I wish the whole allergy thing skipped me. There's also arthritis in the family and so far I don't think I have it. I may be lucky never have to deal with that. Even my nephew started having ankle pains before he got to the age of 10. Eventually they found out that it's arthritis. I also worry about getting bad habits passed down through nurturing. There are some things I'm trying not to repeat with my generation. I'm okay with the family looks and artistic flair. The uncles have the receding hairline but since it doesn't affect my gender I pay no notice of it.

Well my mom's intelligence diluted the share of intelligence that I could have gotten from my dad.

My mom doesn't show above average intelligence in anything and my dad used to be a professor of Physics at UC Berkeley. Go figure.

On the bright side, since I'm half Filipino so I don't grow much body hair, which I love because facial and chest hair is gross.

I also wish I got my dad's blue eyes, blue is awesome.

The only thing I wish I had from my parents is my mom's sociability. I'm very anxious when talking to people.

Oh God the amount of things I wish I didn't have...

my dad's bad skin
my mom's curved spine
dad and mom's anxiety/depression
dad's anger

Both of my parents have back problems and I do too. I wish that would have skipped me, but no luck.

My dad and I never really had a goal in life (i.e. I wanna be ___ when I grow up), but my mom and sister both knew what they wanted to be rather early and stuck with it. I wish I inherited the gene that gives you a passion to work towards a goal from my mom.

Also I suck at falling asleep, but everyone else in my family can fall asleep in like 5 minutes. Most of the time it takes me at least 40 minutes (sometimes like 2 hours though). I wish I inherited the falling asleep gene.

I would keep most things except diabetes. I wouldn't have to face the heart issue I'm currently facing.

Me too. My older sister and my younger brother can eat without even getting a pound more! Actually it seems that when they eat, my weight gets increased

I wish I got the shiny genes from my parents, but sadly that's only a 1 in 8192 chance
