So, I am in the process of overhauling my room. I bought some new shelves, some picture frames, wall scrolls, etc. Anyhow, I noticed I have quite a large collection of manga and light novels that is slowly taking over my room and I have kind of stopped reading them since not having them organized is starting to drive me crazy.

Anyhow, anyone have any recommendations on a decent bookshelf or storage idea? My bedroom is a little short on space so either I'd need something to put on top of my entertainment system shelf (no higher than perhaps 2 or 2 1/2 feet tall) as one option or something skinny (like 2 feet in width) but can be taller. Most bookshelves I am finding at Walmart and thrift shops seem to be way too big to fit in my room.

Thanks.

I had a small bookshelf in my room once and it fell apart

Or if bookshelves aren't your friend, keep your books in boxes? like nice snazzy lookin' boxes you can just shove under your bed or closet.

or you can get those wooden bookshelves where they have enough space to put two rows of books. !!

Not a huge fan of the box idea, I like to see the different books I owe. In a way buying manga is starting a collection, and if you have a collection might as well show it

Any idea where I can get one of those two row bookshelves? Haven't had much luck finding them, figured it would be easy...

I had a larger one I bought a while ago when I had a larger room, but they seem to only sell those crappy cheap ones with the paper thin backing that break almost instantaneously

Ikea Billy bookcases.
They come in 4 sizes - two widths and two heights. The thinner ones are about 18" wide, and the shorter ones are about 3ft high, but don't quote me on that. The bigger sizes are twice the size of the smaller ones. And they have optional doors, extension shelves, a whole bunch of stuff.

Thanks everyone for the advice, I got a small one on a clearance sale which should keep my books from over taking my room for at least a while.

I have heard about the Ikea bookcases you mentioned. Next time I run out of space I'll give them a look.
Pretty cool design with the one next to the bed, don't have nearly that much space in my room though.
