It'd be.... some type of shitty harem show because as of late I've garnered some little admirers, and gained the unofficial title of "Senpai". Smh

Well, Girlish Number deals with a lot of the same problems that happen in grad school, so it fits on the more mundane level.

One of the things that makes academics strange is that, since we've spent a long time being educated, we think we know a lot - and we're well-trained to implement what we know. So we tend to be more deliberate and extreme - and thus easier to caricature - when it comes to how we carry out our lives in relation to morality and politics. For example, you've got the slovenly eccentrics who don't really care about politics or society, because they think there's no point in wasting time on something they're not experts in (or nothing they do will change anything anyway, since people are too stubborn). So they let others handle politics; research is more important than silly things like society (and sometimes hygiene). On the other side there's the Marxist academic, who thinks their job as intellectuals is to change the intellectual landscape and transform society. For this reason, the social and work lives of academics are a lot like Durarara!!: a mishmash of wild people with unique ideas who run up against each other and cause mayhem. In any case, it's not a stretch to say that I was the Shizuo of my department for a while.

Lol - we're already old enough to be the teacher; don't deny it. Though for me it's scotch.
