Nope no reason to, PC is pretty much all digital distribution. Where there are physical copies they seem to be stub installers with some game data and a key for Steam or Origin etc to download the rest.

I've bought like 2 games before from game stop both being bad deals.

But I don't go there for games anymore since I order them online or just buy them for steam at much better deal.

This, basically.

I used to buy games from GameStop, but not anymore. I only buy games from Steam, and Amazon at the moment. o, and among other things, I'll use G2A, but not very often; the deals there aren't always that great, sometimes, their prices are higher than Steam's, if you use the G2A shield, I guess. At that point, you might as well buy it from Steam, so you can at least get a refund if you don't like the game.

Sure I do, well I did 10 years ago, does that count for anything?

Tbh, there are two really good retro game stores nearby where I can get all my Xbox360 games, Wii games, PS2 and N64. Anything newer than Xbox360 I buy digitally. I tend to stay one generation behind with consoles because they are way too damn expensive these days. If I am going to blow $400 on something, I'd rather upgrade my PC.

No, but part of the reason is my decreasing interest in games as a whole, and partly because most of them have closed down in my area.

Sometimes to pick up older titles. Mainly, though, I buy from Best Buy. With Gamer's Club Unlocked, it just makes sense financially. Best Buy also doesn't sell you opened games as new.

I only ever buy Steam gift-cards ( I like paying in cash for most things) and nothing else. They do sell Steam cards elsewhere, but it feels awkward to buy them from anywhere other than gamestop.

No. Their prices are terrible compared to anything you can find online, their games lack manuals most of the time, they toss the original cases so you're stuck with gamestop ones, and those damn stickers they put on games are impossible to remove.

The last time I went to Gamestop it was to get a Pokemon code. I had a left over gift card from years ago so I thought I'd buy something. I went to the PS3 section and since I have pretty varied tastes (anything but madden, fifa, etc.) I looked at all of them. Had some left over data on my phone so I decided to check prices. Out of the 30 or so games I checked there was ONE game that was cheaper than what you could find on Amazon and it did not even have a manual. What's worse is that even brand new games from Amazon cost less than a pre-owned game at Gamestop.

Anyway I still bought it because with the card it would've cost $2. The cashier took out two Pokemon codes. Its supposed to be one per customer, but in the moment I took one when he wasn't looking and had him hand me the other one. I'll give the other one to someone else who like Pokemon.

it's hard to tell to be honest

if you look at their USED vs NEW games

Bestbuy rewrapped their USED game so well that i think it's a NEW game without the USED/PREOWNED logo on the game

i had a whole discussion with a fellow gamer of how to tell which shrink wrap is used vs new..

honestly.. there's not way to tell

even amazon sold me games that looked like used

I'm usually "in the area" when I stop by Gamestop - since it's right next to the grocery store and across the street from Target (two of the stores that I'm almost always visiting anyways for whatever reason). I don't trust Gamestop's website- never have, never will. Mostly because every time I've ordered something from them it's taken forever to get to me and it's been the wrong game/accessory altogether. I've got things refunded each time, but would just spend the "refund points" in-store. I'd rather keep brick and mortar stores going, even if it's the evil company known as Gamestop.

i don't know how long is that $10 PS4 games sale will last

but by tomorrow if they still have those games for $10.. i can price match a few of them at best buy for $10 :)

Bestbuy will not price match starting from Thanksgiving day to CyberMonday (already checked in person)

Target will not price match starting from Thanksgiving day to December 3rd

Black friday is getting earlier and earlier each year

i got some games from best buy at a discounted price thanks to Gamer Club Unclocked.. but $10 each is even lower..

so i'll see if they will agree to do a price adjustment on the games that i already paid for

Gamestop posted lower than expected profits for the quarter but stated they they had an increase in sale on digital goods..

personally i'm not a fan of digital

there are games that i want (digital only) on the PS store but it's still FULL PRICE after 1+ year

these are the things i hate about digital games

1- you can't lend it out
2- you can't sell it
3- they price fixed it so it's still full price after 1+yr while 99% of the physical games will be $20-$30 (some even lower) after 1 year

also there's the licensing issue.. if you bought digital movies or games before keep an eye out on your digital library

there will be games/movies that will not be available anymore in your digital library due to licensing issue

pretty much you got a lifetime rental with digital but they can remove the game away from your digital library when the license expired ?

Gets It.

Neither am I, for most things. I don't mind purchasing something digital if the price is right. Nowadays, even when you purchase a physical copy of the game, you still have to wait for the installation and the download of any additional patches. So downloading a game you've purchased digitally allows the same amount of "wait to play" logic as long as you have a reasonable Internet connection.

I know people who live and swear by the "digital life". They don't like going to a brick and mortar shop, they hate to wait for online orders to arrive, so they just purchase it digitally and set their console to download it automatically when it's released (same goes for the PC).

I like having some physical medium for games. If PSN ever shut down (for whatever reason), I'd have no issues playing about 96% of the games that I own (other than the free PS+ games, which I don't include as me "owning" them). That's what keeps me purchasing physical versions of most games. The Black Friday sale that Sony had done convinced me to purchase about 4 games, digitally. But four games for less than the price of one? Yeah, I'm not worried about it.
