In this world, some people are meant to lead while others are only meant follow. Do you agree with that? Is everyone meant to lead and not follow? Would you rather lead others or be led? What do you think?

Enjoy!!!

Most people are meant to follow, while few are meant to lead. Not everyone is capable of leading, or willing to bear the burden of being a leader.

I would rather lead, as it comes naturally to me. The only thing I would follow are directions to my destination.

Honestly, only a very few select people have the ability to truly lead, and usually have to make great sacrifices in order to do so, something most people are unwilling to do, IMO.

Anyone can be a leader. People aren't "meant" to do anything. There is no fate, whether one is talking spiritual or genetic.

I don't think leading and following are quite as strong a dichotomy as all that. While being the head of a company, or even just a small business manager, requires a certain determination, assertiveness, firmness of spirit; other leadership roles require a more empathetic and calculated approach, being able to flow more with the team than assert a direction and force your 'followers' down that path. Neither is better than the other, it just depends on the situation, but someone who is good at one may not be suited for the other.

And, of course, someone may find those sorts of traits in themselves under the right circumstances. Someone who tends to prefer 'grunt work' may be impassioned by a project, giving them a determination that makes them better leaders than they would on the typical drudgery their team works on. I have worked with people like that, and they can be just as great at leading the team as 'natural' leaders. The only skill that I'd say is universally required is communication, but to be honest, if you can't communicate well then you're probably not a great follower either. Just a bit of a lone wolf, which is fine too.

Yeah, to some extent. Leading, by itself, has low-hanging branches that just about anyone can reach. Leading well, however, is a different story altogether. There are certain skills needed to successfully lead, and there is pressure that comes with it. Not everyone can handle all that comes with being a leader, and, despite trying to learn how, may never be able to. Vice versa, there are folks who are terrible at "following." That said; I wouldn't say "meant to lead/follow," so much as they have and gain the necessary aptitude, personality, and experience to successfully lead. The whole "meant to" sounds kind of fatalistic, which pretty much rings as a pity-party excuse for people to never try, to me.
