I was slightly underwhelmed at first but the further I get in this game, the more I think that they've made something really special. I'm on chapter 9 and I highly recommend it.

I put in about an hour and a half into it Thursday. I'm liking it so far. I've never been a big Final Fantasy player, and I do like the combat for it so far. Just have to find the time to play it more, and not get sucked up into other games.

i talked with a friend about FFXV

regarding the story and how they are leaving pieces in the anime, cg movie and game

this video is pretty much an opinion from another gamer.. but he brought up the point about story that i brought up before

10 Things HARDCORE Fans HATE About Final Fantasy 15

Those I've spoken to that have played FFXV and have called it "even worse than Final Fantasy XIII" are those who cannot handle being forced to "choose their own path". FFXV is like the FF "world" wrapped around a slightly more controlled Fallout 3/4 "open world" logic - meaning, you can pretty much go and do whatever you want and for as long as you want without touching the main storyline in most cases.

The storyline isn't really as bad as people are making it out to be, I think. You don't have to watch the anime and Kingsglaive; but, I will warn those who haven't that some of the character development will feel "cheesy". It's where most of the "boy band simulator" comments about FFXV come from because "Final Fantasy: Brotherhood" (the anime) shows the how and why these main characters are together as friends as well as Noctis' "royal guard".

As for the video you linked, some of its information isn't correct (especially about the Type-F Regalia). It states that you cannot get the flying Regalia (the car) until the end of the game - I have it and I'm only on Chapter 7 (there's 13 or so Chapters, I believe). I will agree that some of those things will be deal breakers for those who have to have a cookie cutter Final Fantasy game. But so far, I've put in about 70 hours into the game and I'm only on Chapter 7 (mostly due to side quests and grinding).

So much to do. Starting area feels like Dragon Age Inquisition and the Hinterlands all over again. Characters have great chemistry. Combat is really nice and challenging, although magic seems to have taken a backseat. So far I'm digging the story but I feel like thats because I did watch Kingsglaive and the anime. Music and sound and the smaller details are amazing in this game. I mean have you seen the food? It looks so good.

i got a couple of those $60 game for $31 each ? last guardian and FFXV included :)

but now i have to find a buyer for my PS4 slim so i can get a PS4.. since the more recent games will run more smoothly at 1080p with 60fps..

i guess they changed my mind for me again..

The last of us 2 will look pretty good on the pro (by then i should have a 4K tv)

the characters are a bit "girly" for me to be honest.. but

i'l check out the anime and the cg and then the game..

i'm not a fan of "forced" grinding

if the game is fun i'll grind on my own.. i hate being forced to grind to just advance the storyline

btw

Final Fantasy XV sold a total of 694,262 units during its first week of sale in Japan, with 690,471 of those sales coming from the PlayStation 4 version, the latest Media Create sales figures reveal.

Free DLC coming for FFXV to revamp the story and system ?

Square Enix lays plans to revamp FFXV's story & systems via free DLC
http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/287156/Square_Enix_lays_plans_to_revamp_FFXVs_story__systems_via_free_DLC.php

the usual trend.. release now and patch it later

Assassin Creed unity is more playable now than it was on day 1.. so i guess it's better than being stuck with a broken game like in the PS1/PS2 era..

I waited 10 years for this. I saved up all my vacation from this year to play it. I went into hibernation.

I got 109 hours into the game.

I love it.

Noctis is an excellent portrayal of social isolation and a spoiled upbringing. He's perfect. The characters are fantastic, the combat is fun, and the environment is beautiful. The dungeons and bosses you hit at around the 80 hour mark though, oh baby this game is hot.

The banter is brilliant.

You will not enjoy this game if you rush through the main story. Explore and get to know the characters first. Take your time. Enjoy the scenery. Look at the fine details these characters and the world has to offer. Tune into the radio and pick up newspaper articles.

Magic (especially late game) and summons make you feel godly. Ascension mode feels great too.

There's also an accessory late game that automatically changes your weapon with each attack (allowing you to think up some neat combos and variations). All sorts of neat shit in this game.

I didn't bother completing the main story until around 70-80 hours in.

Also reviewers that rushed through the game to get their videos up first--ah, I'd take them with a grain of salt.

I hope they consider a remaster for it rather than a simple port, it has so much potential.
