I was talking to a couple of friends about watching Spirited Away when it comes out in December and was looking for more anime movies coming in 2017, but only found the One Piece movie. Is there a site that can give me a list of upcoming theater releases of Anime because I don't have time to go on anime forums and shift through a lot of news to get the information I want.

This would be good to know! Multiple feeds makes it confusing.

I've moved this over to the Advice, info, Recommendations forum where there's a chance more people will see it.

Livechart lists movies, and while you can't filter just for theatrical releases, you can filter just for movies, and each entry does indicate format--including "Theatrical Premiere" For example see:

https://www.livechart.me/winter-2017/movies

Of course, that info is the Japanese theatrical premiere info. I don't know of a comprehensive source for theatrical showings in other regions. But, if you know there's been, or is about to be, a Japanese theatrical movie, you'd at least have something to search for to see if there is any info about a release date for your area.

I can't vouch for how comprehensive they are regarding movies, but I've come to rely on them for season series and so far I've had little to complain about -- they seem to be pretty complete and mostly accurate with those.

Unfortunately, theaters and cinemas outside of Asia (and Japan, tbh) don't really show anime movies, unless they were popular and/or made by a production team/studio w/ enough money to pay for the international rights. usually, Japan announces that it will be releasing international copies to theaters worldwide three months before those cinemas premiere the movies - and the best way to guarantee that YOUR local cinema shows the film is to call them and request for a showing

(at least that's how i think it works? it's what's currently happening w/ Kimi no Na Wa in my country)
