I'd go so far as to say you really don't even like decent food all that much unless you enjoy some spicy at least every now and then.

Fresh or pickled peppers are so much better than sauce, though sauce is nice every now and again.

Ha, I'm from Texas and hate hot sauce. Liking or disliking something has nothing to do with the region you were born or raised in. Then again I don't really consider myself a "southerner" so what do I care. I think of myself as a human and an American though. Also one's DNA has more to do with what you do or don't like. There are three types of tasters: Non-tasters, Medium-tasters and Super-tasters. I definitely fall in the category of super-tasters. Most vegetables are way too bitter for me to handle.

"People live in different worlds of taste intensity," said Linda Bartoshuk, a physiological psychologist at the University of Florida. "Supertasters live in a 'neon' taste world, while others live in a 'pastel' world."
For supertasters, this is both a blessing and a curse: Though bitters are bitterer, sweets are also sweeter. "Supertasters are more sensitive to the burn from ethanol, the sweetness of sugar, the burn of chili peppers and the astringency of red wine," said John E. Hayes, a professor of food science at Penn State.

So it's really not my fault that I'm more highly evolved than some of you who love hot sauce. Evolution has a way of overcoming everything....even the south.

From one Texan to another...you ain't no Southerner.

Hell yeah, I love hot sauce. Though I am not from the South. I used to hate it, but I feel once you start it just slowly grows on you and you need to go just that little hotter every time.

Basically drugs?

This kind of hot sauce is nice for some things, but ultimately it runs into the reality that it's NOT ACTUALLY HOT and has a BORING FLAVOR. Try some Sichuan cooking, and eat the dry chilis.

I lived in Kansas City, MO up until this last summer - I found the hot sauce of my dreams.
Grinder's Death Nectar

I use this stuff like a condiment. Tend to spread it on sandwiches and put it into stews. Girlfriend isn't much for spicy stuff, so I tend to put some into my own bowl instead of the entire pot these days. But it's good, really, really good.
