Welp, add the Washington post to the long list of "news" outlets I'm not going to be giving credence to from now on. Why does everything surrounding this election have to be soaked in stupidity?

Washington Post? Didn't they release an editorial calling for Snowden to be imprisoned, shortly after Obama made his intent clear, even after winning the Pulitzer because of their previous affiliations with him?

I don't really think Washington Post by itself has enough credibility to prove such an allegation. Especially if they're reporting against Trump.

I think I've grown in tolerance. I think it is fine for papers to assume an obvious political stance, but not in blind support of a candidate unless they fit those beliefs.

It is fine to cater to a certain ideology perhaps, but being paid for to support a candidate regardless of what they do or what they believe in is astoundingly stupid and deceitful.

Yep, lets blame the Russians, instead of owning up to USA propaganda and the twisted "us versus them" dead horse that was beaten to an indiscernible pulp in hopes of promoting Hillary. Gee-whiz, I wonder if things would've turned out "better" if the media and whatnot actually aimed to win over public approval, as opposed to fervently dividing the nation and demonizing large swaths of the voter populace. Folks were so busy attacking anything associated with Trump, that they forgot the end-game of leading a nation. So much for being presidents of a country; it was about being "president of her political team," far more often than not.

I wouldn't say thats why he won, but there certainly is a lot of fake news out there that people are dumb enough to believe. Look at all those RT articles that got posted here. Along with ridiculous twitter / facebook posts that people see in their feed and just accept as truth.

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/donald-trump-election-facebook-fake-news-creator-paul-horner-claims-responsibility/

^^Pretty interesting read. He's the guy behind some of those craigslist ads that advertised paying protesters, and we all know how people ate those up. There are about 20 threads by people on here who just assumed it was true.

The effort also sought to heighten the appearance of international tensions and promote fear of looming hostilities with nuclear-armed Russia.

She did that shit her fucking self. Own up to it.

I think the only thing you should give less credence to in this case is your interpretation of the news that you read. The only time the word "prove" was used in the article was to say that there is no way to know whether the Russians' fake news proved decisive in the election.

There is no way to know whether the Russian campaign proved decisive in electing Trump, but researchers portray it as part of a broadly effective strategy of sowing distrust in U.S. democracy and its leaders. The tactics included penetrating the computers of election officials in several states and releasing troves of hacked emails that embarrassed Clinton in the final months of her campaign.

All the article is really saying is that there are some experts who believe the Russians launched a propaganda campaign against Hillary in this election. It certainly doesn't seem like much of a stretch to me, considering how much conflicting information has been circulating in the US lately, but I really couldn't say how much credibility these experts have in making this claim.
