U.S. is affected by external actors? How can I never imagine this when the U.S. media had always glorify U.S. as the active world protagonist surrounded by a bunch of passive bystanders? The Capitalists once promote fear of Russia as the overpowered evil outsider similar to the Dark Force in the Phantasy Star series, and they may still continue it to some extent, but this xenophobia should had died out by now. The idea that a puppet government is arising in U.S. is believable to a limited extent but I could not believe that such foreign power could have that much effect. The idea that an outcome of the U.S. election is determined solely by foreign could either be one of the many attack ads from the Democrats and mainstream Republicans or an attempts to recognize a foreign nation as equal with U.S.

Welp, add the Washington post to the long list of "news" outlets I'm not going to be giving credence to from now on. Why does everything surrounding this election have to be soaked in stupidity?

Your clickbait headline and the actual article don't match. In fact, they literally say the opposite.

Basically, you are the problem the article is talking about.

Yeah the WP is terrible. During the election it was basically a mouthpiece for the Clinton campaign. Was especially frustrating for Sanders supporters during the primary. Now that Clinton has lost, they are bitterly engaged in full on character assassination of Trump and his supporters. Even when I basically agree with what they post, the way they spin it makes me feel dirty.

Washington Post, Breitbart, Huffington Post, NY Times, etc. None of it deserves to be called news anymore.

how are they saying the opposite?

"clickbait" headline:
Experts prove that Donald Trump only won the election because of Russian propaganda according to the washington post

actual article:
The flood of “fake news” this election season got support from a sophisticated Russian propaganda campaign
...
Russia’s increasingly sophisticated propaganda machinery
...
“The way that this propaganda apparatus supported Trump was equivalent to some massive amount of a media buy,” said [someone we claim to be] the executive director of PropOrNot, [though we can't prove his identity for "security" reasons]: “It was like Russia was running a super PAC for Trump’s campaign. . . . It worked.”

veredict: the article only said that there was a "sophisticated" Russian propaganda that helped Trump get elected though what they claim to be "fake" articles.

ah..ok. they didn't say that it was proven. only that Russia messed with the elections. i see.
change the headline to

Experts claim that Donald Trump won the election with massive help from Russian propaganda according to the washington post

happy now?

It doesn't say that either. Also, the "experts" involved here have worked with US military intelligence for over 60 years. So perhaps you should listen.

"Prove" and "Claim" are pretty drastically different.

everyone like to claim being an "expert" now a day-- even some punk on the net with no degree --still living his parents can claim being "expert"

plus this coming from a Clinton News Network's affiliate?

thanks to the experts associated with the Clinton News Network . .we got this

it showed how the Clinton News Network and its affiliates operate

"propaganda" you don't say..

Washington Post.. aren't these guys the one who gave Uncharted 4 a 4 out of 10 score?

not only they are clueless when it comes to politics but also gaming

eh.. the election is over-- move on

let see how Trump will do being a president of the USA.. if he's doing a horrible job.. impeach the guy

Trump is the most criticized president elect in our history all eyes are on him..

again move on-- all the whining about the election and trump is getting old

don't people have bills to pay? get back to work !

Are these the same experts that projected Hillary Clinton was going to be the winner?

I'm still in awe of how much credit is being given to trolls. They are funny, but they don't command political allegiance. At best they point out how stupid some existing propaganda is. The world is filled with too many loud stupid people. We keep hearing them complain and for some reason it's always in the news.

No. These are analysts and global intelligence researchers that have worked with the US Military for decades. Not pollsters. ;p

I would hesitate to refer to the majority of pollsters as "experts" at this juncture.

Disinformation is a powerful tool. One with a long and unsettling history in Russia going back to the USSR. Which it has used to great effect several times before. The mistake people make is classifying this as Russia stepping in specifically to help Trump win. Trump winning isn't the point. Sowing confusion and undermining trust in the system is the point.

Its not about pushing one position or agenda. Its about flooding the situation with so much conflicting information that people become distrustful in general and just go with whichever version of reality they prefer. When you combine that with the US media machine which is more interested in telling people what they want to hear for ratings than what is actually going on? You end up with this mess and by "this mess" I am referring to the current state of politics and discourse that journalism can't fix because journalism wasn't interested in doing its job to begin with. Instead preferring to cater to specific audiences.

Trump won in an election he claimed was "rigged". Hey Trump, I guess it wasn't so rigged after all? I will say, however, that Bernie Sanders was wrongfully mistreated in the Democratic primary. You can speculate to your heart's content on why and how he won; or, you could come to the obvious conclusion that Trump used the Electoral College to his advantage. I mean, screw the popular vote. Trump is an irrational, arrogant, and privileged cis white male but whatever. Oh, I was being facetious about the cis part, BTW. Lol, it'll be an interesting four years to say the least.
