I used to watch 1 episode per week, however the wait throws me off and nowadays I just cannot do that. So here's my topic of this discussion: is there a way on CR to tell you if an anime is complete or not?

Reason why I am asking this is because I like to beige watch anime. I like to watch many episodes straight after one other, watch completed anime works and get them clear off my watchlist, and because this way I enjoy each anime more.

I do not see anything that marks an anime as complete besides the year listed down under "detail" if, and only if it is complete. Plus, I'm sure I am not the only person here with this problem/question. It would be really neat is CR was able to showcase if an anime is complete or ongoing in a noticeable or easy way to notify CR users.

Easiest way is just to google the anime.

I've moved this over to Site Support / Minor Questions.

There is not currently a feature on Crunchyroll that specifically indicates which anime shows are complete and which are not.

As you say, if you simply mean whether or not the season is finished, then looking at the show page will give you that info -- if it says "Simulcast on..." then it's still ongoing. In most other cases, the lack of that info means it's complete. One exception would be in the case of where Crunchyroll acquired a catalog title and is catching up in small batches (there haven't been a lot of these). Another might be that the season Crunchyroll has is complete, but there are other seasons of the show that Crunchyroll doesn't have, or where there's a new season expected that hasn't aired yet.

If it is here: /videos/anime/simulcasts then it is still airing, and not complete. All other shows have finished their run, except as Lorreen notes a rare few times when a catalog addition (older episodes) is introduced in stages, such as Dragonball Super currently is doing, but even in that case, it is still also a simulcast as well.

You can also look on the /lineup page in the first two sections to see what is being simulcast as well. Again, if it is not there, then it has completed its run.

However, just because something has completed a run, doesn't necessarily mean it is "complete". There are shows in planning, such as Attack on Titan, which will have at least another future season, and supposedly Full Metal Panic will get another season in the future (not here, but just for example).

Other shows have occasionally come out with "new" seasons years after the initial season ran, like Durarara, or Mushi-Shi, or even D.Gray Man have done for example...

And, lots of Anime series only get one run, then stop for any number of reasons, poor sales, running out of the original source material, etc, etc. so just because something isn't being simulcast anymore, doesn't really mean it's a complete story. Btooom!, Say I love you, etc, etc. there are lots of them that will leave you hanging, even though there aren't any more on the way.
