Okay people, I know that there have been many forums out there that discuss anime cliches and all, but I want to hold a poll for it. So, here's the list of cliches I put down.

Perceived pervert: In this cliche, what happens is that there's a character of a show who's usually male that will be minding their own business walking along and then will suddenly slip and fall accidentally landing on a girl's boobs or brushes up against her crotch. As a result, the girl character will proceed to beat the daylights out of him since she thinks he is a pervert and will continue to make his life a living hell since she firmly believes he is a pervert. Other times, a male character will walk in on a female character in the bath tub and she will think she can no longer marry because a strange man saw her naked and she is no longer pure. Regardless, if the girl's purity is violated in any way, then they fully believe that they have the right to beat the snot out of the man as a way to avenge themselves from being "molested" or "assaulted", EVEN THOUGH IT WAS JUST AN ACCIDENT!

Underage fanservice : I get that in Japan the age of consent in many regions is 13 and the nation itself will be more mature than the USA will ever be in terms of approaching sex, but making little kids sexy goes too far. Sometimes there are animes out there that will make teenagers look like little kids, and it's fine if the characters are cute but sexy, NO NO NO NO NO! Seriously, you've got anime where they show panty shots of 10-year-olds and even try to sexualize kids in these age groups. If you think I'm still lying I am only going to say 3 words, BOKU NO PICO!

Dense or wimpy lead characters: It's nearly part of every Shonen anime I have seen. the lead characters are as dense as a brick and rarely tend to have a sliver of intelligence when it comes to common sense. Luffy from One Piece comes to mind and so does Naruto when it comes to dense characters. Meanwhile, wussy characters include Tskune from Rosario vampire and Yukkiteru Amano from Future Diary and these characters rarely go through any character development. But this cliche is becoming so common and boring that these characters are starting to turn me off in recent animes.

Fillers Now I get that there are times when the anime has to let the manga go ahead and all but non-stop fillers are very very irritating. Come on you all know that joke, "How many Super Saiyans does it take to screw in a lightbulb? One but it will take ten episodes." They're mainly there to drag the anime on for a very long time or otherwise show off new power-ups. So there are aliens who want to drain the world's energy? BUT WHAT ABOUT THE PLAY!? Then you get your classic beach episodes and bath house episodes for fanservice, but for whatever reason, these fillers tend to drag on for too long.

Other/ Free choice Is there a cliche you want to discuss on your own? Then type it down and tell everyone why you think it needs to stop. It can be anything from gravity defying boobs, wild hair for the main characters only, gluttonous characters, etc.

Villains transforming into their final form and the protagonists just sit there and watch instead of going on for the kill.

For me, it's definitely the dense or useless lead character. I can deal with pretty much anything else but when the main character, essentially the focus of the show, makes you want to gag yourself with a fork there's really no avoiding it or getting around it. Plus, a bad main character also ruins the other characters in the show because they are forced to interact with a quality vacuum in stupid or unrealistic ways just to keep up appearances.

Oh, and the dense/useless main character is also the hallmark of the harem, which happens to be a genre/convention I absolutely despise as well so there's that too.

Underage fanservice.

When the camera focuses on the boobs and panties of a 9 year old girl I just cringe

This was a really tough question honestly.

The perceived pervert is so annoying because it's in almost every romance anime with that Tsundere character and sometimes the Deredere character. I didn't vote this one because as annoying as it is, it can still be funny and I've actually watched a ton of anime with this cliché.

The underaged fanservice I didn't vote for because I somewhat enjoy it to an extent. I know that because it's not real that I can enjoy it. I would never want to see kids in real life dressed sexually like that, but that is what makes anime fun (it's not real).

Dense Lead is really annoying considering the anime is supposed to focus around that particular character. Harem anime is something I try to avoid watching now and the only reason I didn't vote for this was because I liked a few harems. Mayo Chiki (manga) is amazing.

Fillers was the one I voted for! Yay finally his answer yay... I absolutely HATE fillers. I don't understand how people watch these seriously long shows with like 200+ episodes and not get fed-up with it. I used to watch DBZ and Bleach as a kid and got frustrated that some battles took SO LONG. If they would shut the hell up with their overly long banter and get on with the damn fight it would be much better.

Ugh, sorry for that long spew of words.

I'm not a fan of fanservice in general. It's disservice to me.

I voted for perceived pervert. Underage sexualisation doesn't bother me as much because it's pure fiction and very rarely does the MC act on those urges.

Fillers... I have mixed feelings because some of them are very funny and interesting while others not so much. However, since some of them are good and some are bad, I'm like 'whatev'.

About dense or wimpy character... I don't mind because often it leads to great character development and amusement. Also, while they may be the main character, often times what is happening around them is interesting enough to keep you hooked. Over powered characters are more of a problem, because you kind of just loose interest on the fight and mostly wait around for the other characters to do something.

But I hate the characterization of women and girls on the perceived pervert situations. Either they are violent, should-be-in-jail-for-that, annoying and boring characters or wimpy, flat characters that are so one dimensional that you wander why is she so important?
