all that turkey grease caused a back up in one of the sewer/drain pipes.. causing a leak on the outside of the wall..

i had to use a plumbing snake to clear it out..

i thought people know to not dumping grease/oil down the drain--especially during the winter months!!

grease+ cold water

this reminded me of the video i saw from way back..

Phoenix Plumbing: How To Spot A Plumbing Scam (As Seen on Dateline)

if i have to call someone i guess . this company will do (not sure if there is any here though)

I've never had to call a plumber; I invested in a good toolbox and can usually just google how to fix a problem. But if something went seriously wrong and I couldn't handle it on my own, I'd probably just ask my friends on Facebook for recommendations. Can never trust sites like Yelp to have honest reviews.

Silly, spiderman doesn't work as a plumber, unless you can find an appropriate spiderman meme that is.

I just break out a wrench, some pipes, soldering iron if need be, and plumber's tape. It's not rocket surgery. As far as home repairs go plumbing is one of the easy ones.

Smart marketing. I imagine it's incredibly difficult to make yourself stand out as a plumber, but she has done well.

For me though, I come from a blue collar family and have connections for all that stuff. Plumbing? Call my dad's friend Pete. Electrician? My dad's friend Randy. Drywall? My brother's friend Nick. You get the idea...

As someone whose grandfather owns a plumbing contractor business I thought that video was pretty hilarious. We don't do service calls often since construction is where the money is at. The last time I went out for a water heater we had to contend with the wasp nest under the panel for the electrical contacts. I'm allergic to those bastards, but we get the job done.

These guys... to not do anything... It makes me embarrassed to not have a license. I worked in the presence of the holder of our Master license at all times.

Here's a tip: When hiring a plumber take a look at their shoes there should be signs mud and some unknown gunk you would rather not know about, bonus points for dirt/damage around the knees. I don't know if that also applies to heavily urbanized cities.

they also did a video on AC repairman

now a day some handyman with a bit of skill think they can start their business just like that-- but then again.. when scamming people you don't really need a license for it

i don't know about the tip though-- since you can look clean and professional .. even for plumber

i would just check their ROC # with the state website + BBB+ other thing ratings agencies

yelp or google reviews can also be helpful

there's one thing i noticed.. when reviewing why people don't also list the price they were charged for?

as a consumer- it will help others a lot in knowing what to expect

share information!! maybe it will help keep businesses honest
