If you think it's wrong, it's probably wrong. To me, it's a meaningless phrase. From dating, to friendships, to associations of a business nature, to collusion in criminal activities, every 'relationship' lasts as long as it should.

Why would it be wrong? Everybody has different opinions, beliefs and worldviews. This mentioned uniqueness is the reason why people think and act differently. However, there is one thing that most people strive towards: the vague, highly subjective concept of happiness. Relationships are often based on the assumption that they will get us closer to this happiness that we desperately long for. Still, that does not apply to everyone. Notice how I said most instead of all. There is an exception to every rule. If someone doesn't see a long term relationship as a beneficial concept, they will not pursue it. Fortunately, the ambitions and goals of a single individual often do not affect other people's happiness. That is why there is nothing wrong with this individual decision.

As long as you and the other person talk about it and are on the same page then I see no problem.

As long as the other person is aware of the type of relationship you want it should be fine.

No, because not everyone wants to be committed in a relationship instead people like to be more carefree and casual.

Depends on the mental stability and health of the relationship. If it's constant confliction, or if you're relation is only for certain "benefits", then it's probably not going to last long or end well. I'm aware that all relationships, small or large, long or short, have disagreements and arguments from time to time, but it should be limited. Basically, as long as the connection between both partners are mutual and they can compromise and balance one another for their weaknesses, then it should be fine. Communication, whether it's relaying your feelings or thoughts, or just getting a message across is crucial in relationships, especially if you want it to flourish and last a long time. Just any other business partnership or companionship, communication is a major aspect to these connections.

I believe the whole purpose of a relationship is to see if you want to stay together, so I don't see why it would be bad to want a long-term relationship when that is what relationships are for.

I want a long term relationship, and I certainly don't want to date someone that doesn't want one. Up to personal preference. To me, what's the point in a short term relationship? Just together because of sex? Meh, where's the love.

Isn't a short term relationship typically called dating? Or does no one call it that anymore?

No it's not. Wrong would be staying in a relationship you no longer wished to be in
