I been a fan of Dream Theater for years, but I've never seen them live because they never come where I live. That is until now. Their going to be playing in Durham on Monday night. Has anyone here seen them live? Being a fan of Rush, DT is clearly the band that seems to be the band most closely influenced to those guys. By the way, the band is playing most of their most recent album, "The Astonishing", which is a two disk concept album which tells an epic sci-fi/fantasy story.

I'm so jealous of you.

I'm actually sad that I missed this concert. I've seen them live a handful of times throughout my travels, so there's that.
If this one was anything like the others, I'm sure you had a great time rabbitofcaerbannog.

And a great time I had too on Monday night. Dream Theater really is a great live band, in fact they put on a superb show. James LeBrie vocals rocked the house and lead guitarist John Petrucci is a truly remarkable axeman, in fact he's one of the best out there. Also the lighting and video visuals where quite impressive and this was in a 2000-3000 seat theater. Very glad I finally got to see them and I'll certainly see them again. By the way, what stopped you from seeing them on this tour?.
