Hey all

Is there something wrong with the search engine or is it just me? It could just be me. But I'm trying to find most popular Anime shows for specific genres, but they just sort them alphabetically. Am I doing something wrong? Or is the search engine system that bad?

Thanks to all that reply!

What genre are you looking for? It's not the best search engine to be honest, you'll probably just have to keep scrolling until you find something you like. Or you can hit the random dice above for some fun.

Any to be honest. I literally just want to find the most popular anime's for ANY specific genre. Its pathetic as a paying subscriber to Crunchyroll that I'm not able to do this.

But again, I could be using the search engine wrong.

Point being, I would like to click on a specific genre and find out what is the most popular anime for that genre. But it just sorts it alphabetically.

I've moved this over to the Site Support / Minor Questions forum.

Yes, the search features are pretty limited. You can't really combine things like "Popular" or "Recently Updated" with genre or season; they function independently of each other.

Why not?

Why am I subscribing to a site with a pretty poor search engine?

Is there an update on when this will get fixed?

There are free anime sites out there with way better search engine functions than this.

I don't know. I'm just a volunteer moderator. I'm not in on those decisions.

I don't know. I imagine it's either because it's still worth it even with a weak search engine, or because you didn't know it had a weak search engine, or because you only just realized you cared that much about a search engine.

TBH, I don't think must people consider it "broken" so there's nothing to "fix." Your suggestion is more of an enhancement request. I have no idea if CR has any plans for changing or expanding the functionality of searching for shows.

Fair enough

Thank you for replying at least.

More than the actual people that can make those changes.
