In an extremely traditional family that is unlikely even if the spouse is abusive and/or a deadbeat.

It's marriage 4 lyfe.....For Life!!!!! Or till death do you part, later on you'll realize you'll be setting a goal.

Don't play coy. You even edited my reply. Go to the other thread, and play your anti Trump games there.

On this thread, we're talking about the differences of dating cultures, between Chinese women and Western women.

Good for you. Meanwhile, here in the real world, I never posted anything anti-trump related in this thread so I have no idea what your moronic problem is. Especially seeing as I never edited your reply.

It's kind of funny talking about a "traditional family" in China. They're suppose to be Communists. The old bourgeois ideals were suppose to be done away with. Men and women are suppose to be equally worthless peasants serving the state. Right? So, are they saying that men are "more equal" than women in China?

I'm sorry. I know you wanted to talk about Drumpf. Don't worry. I posted in another thread about globalism. I put up a link to InfoWars, talking about it, and Drumpf's role in globalism's downfall. Go have a look. You won't be so -_- about it.

...

I would ask what you're talking about, but I really don't think I want to know

Right. You didn't change the spelling of Trump to Drumpf when you quoted me.

Hey just because the system of governance change that doesn't mean that the people will change their traditions, attitudes and perceptions. Look at the one child policy and what happens if you have both a son and daughter the family will choose most likely to get rid of the daughter. This highlights how the society favors male over females. I'm not sure if that perception is changing but eh whatever none of my business.

You're correct. I never did. This was the result of that google chrome extension that automatically changes Trump to Drumpf that is on my browser either because it was added automatically or my brother, who had this computer before I did, installed it.

My wife and I have been married for over a decade. She's Japanese and I'm American. One thing I appreciated (and I'm not sure if this is just her or a cultural thing) is she didn't play games and we had zero drama. All the girls I dated before her were drama queens. Making up arguments, accusing me of cheating, checking my voicemail, etc.

Besides that our relationship moved along at a good pace. We didn't rush into things. Although I did get married fairly young. But that's another story.

Why does it matter what race they are? a woman is a woman they all deserve a man who will make em happy, we shouldn't be comparing them like you would meat in a supermarket because you don't know what you want for your Sunday roast. She's either going to make you happy or be a total bitch.

I've also never dated a Chinese woman - American, Filipino, and others, but Chinese.. not so far. So I guess we're on equal footing there. But one thing I have found is that every woman I've dated is unique, so listening to others generalize by group is not something I'm into. Just a personal preference there, I like to learn who the person is, not try to assume things based on something about them.

I don't think it's as much as generalizing as it is describing a cultural norm.

Lets just all step back a moment here and acknowledge that you cannot generalize half the population of entire countries. Especially one the size of China that still has such a wide gulf between poor and rich, urban and rural. Yes, you'll see a lot of more traditional approaches to courtship and marriage. But you could say the same for some areas in the west. Conversely, things likewise change as you get more urban.

Context: One of my exs is Chinese. So a couple years of being in a relationship with and living with a Chinese woman. I can't say she, her family or friends fit into the stereotypes being presented here. And no, she was not second generation or anything. She immigrated straight from the Motherland(tm).

In my honest opinion western woman specifically American women can be fickle and prone to be non committal in a relationship. Not to mention Americans view and treat relationships very casual and are more lax.

Now onto the Chinese, The Chinese treat relationships seriously because they believe that it is a prelude to marriage and they don't fuck around in this area but it ultimately depends on how traditional the Chinese family is.

100% this. I am friends with a good few Asian families and talked about stuff like this out of curiosity (I love learning). I learned a lot about China and Korea from them. Sadly I have not become very good friends with any Japanese families yet.

I can say that dating is much more serious in China and S. Korea than in the USA. Hell, I had a girl date me just to "experiment" in her words. I don't think I would see that (at least as commonly) in most of Asia. The USA is just date for fun and maybe it will stick.

Quote for the day: Throw enough shit at the wall and some of it may stick!
Have enough relationships and one of them may last.

I do think that dating an Asian would be nice in many ways as I tend to want to take them very seriously. Then again some facets of their culture would kill me. High context cultures suck man.

What does that mean?

There are High Context cultures and Low Context cultures.

High context have "hidden meaning" behind their words. Low context spell it out. This is the part that gets me.

I will link you to a page so you can read the difference between the two. Too lazy to type 20 pages on it.
