bearings account was terminated without warning, first it was one strike then it turned into 3 without notice, bearing content follows all youtube laws

his channel is also his livelihood, and has over 300k subscribers

I feel this is a form of censorship tbh

I'm a little confused; a privately owned company/site suspends a user and it's a form of censorship?

Essentially, as long as you're using someone else's website - you're at the mercy of their "rule". While on the Internet, the Bill of Rights and the Constitution do not necessarily mean much at all. Someone else owns the data you're posting, the data you're uploading, and the data you're sending/receiving - you're just paying for access to these things that are hosted elsewhere. As long as the Internet is an International domain, there are several "barricades" that those who believe that there's a sense of "censorship" must overcome to reach the objective of 'free speech':

1) You must host your own server, locally, with the content you wish to be accessible.
2) You must own your own domain and have a domain registrar that is under your control as well
3) You must have the server located in a location that does not have any political oversight

Even then, when you do these things, you're going to be the person that can pull the plug on someone or something that you disagree with. So it's a circle jerk.

---

Other than that, I will miss Bearing - although, I feel he'll be back on YouTube sooner than expected. YouTube sometimes gives those who have some notoriety. Change.org petitions tend to yield very little results if any. But something is better than nothing in some cases.

Does Bearing follow all the rules though? I'm pretty suspicious about that, I mean he does directly lift his key assets from tdi which is probably not the most legal thing to do, as Dogempire and I pointed out in an earlier thread.

Still, screw youtube. Their systems are broken, and do not benefit the user in any way shape or form. They go all out for their advertisers, but only do the bear (punpunpunpun) minimum for the people who use the damn site and even then we have to fight tooth and nail for that little.

Here's only one recent example of how fucked their automated system is.

I doubt that change.org petition will do anything, but I wouldn't worry since I'm sure the channel will be back up.

Give it a day or two before you start doing whatever in response to the channel being deleted.

Edit: Turns out Bearing hasn't been told why exactly his channel has been taken down. Guess we're in the dark for now.

Not at all surprised. Youtube taking even obvious and simple steps to help their creators has been far too much to ask for.

One analogy I liked was from IHE who said something along the lines of this:

Imagine you work at a hospital and then one morning you show up to work and the hospital you work at is just gone and all there is there is a note that says fuck you.

I think we have a reason, or at least a lead.

Oh I figured that was the reason all along. I just think youtube should get called out for it's bullshit practices all the same. If someone is arrested or fired or whatever the person doing that to them legally has to tell them why, I see no reason why youtube should not be held to the same accountability.

It's YouTube, what do you expect? They're owned by Google and have been for a few years now. And ever since Google took the site over, the site's never been the same and their policies and how they run it suck now. I've had an account on there for ten years now, but I hardly ever go on it anymore since they changed it unless I'm looking for something that I can only find on there that will usually be ad free, like RWBY Chibi. I had a couple of Bleach AMVs up on my account, one for a few years, and the first one I ever made got blocked for copyright issues, even though I stated in the description the copyright law and that I wasn't making any money from it at all, yet the second one I made is still up and not blocked on there, so go figure.

I've never heard of Bearing--and thus have no bearing on the discussion (ba-bing!)--but given the fact that you're posting it, the cries of "Deliberate unfair censorship!", and the utterly scrubbed, context-free description on Change.org ("An average citizen, who obeyed the First Amendment and never did anything wrong in his life")....I'mmmmm guessing it's something Trump-related?

My psychic powers of intuition are uncanny.

What! bearing got taken down?!?
Well, tbh, I'm pretty sure more then a few people have beef with him and his 'slap of reality to the face!' style of comedy/discussion. Especially those on the receiving end. But hey, that is why I like him. He don't sugarcoat, beat around the bush, or go soft. If he thinks something is stupid, funny, or both, he will say it is as it is.

Wish more people had his brutal truth kind of personality. :*(

I signed it. You know... Maybe someone needs to start up a competitor to Youtube. Hopefully, competition will get Youtube to pay closer attention to situations like this, and fix them.

is it bad if i've never heard of bearing...?

i remember people having their videos removed even for filming snow™®© outside their home.
youtube can take down any channel for no reason at any time. kinda sucks for content creators, but.
