if you shot a running pirate/suspect/thief.. you will be in prison for manslaughter

that's how the law works.. justified self defense- is only when your life is threaten by the other person

i would rather if they charged at me with a knife after they saw me.. so i can put a round of buckshot 00 into their chest.. but pretty sure they will run away when they are looking down the barrel of a 12 gauge shotgun..

however it's different if they broke into your house though... home invasion will allow the homeowners more rights to use deadly force..

I've had two packages that went missing. On checking tracking one of them was noted as received with a fraudulent signature in my name. Yes I did get reimbursed but that was annoying waiting for that. I mostly don't rely on waiting for packages to come. I don't have a housemaid or butler to house sit and wait on packages. Friends and family also either have no time or don't even live near enough to house-sit either. If there are close pick up points for packages I'll use them. If a company has no convenient pick up points then I'll shop elsewhere from a company that does provide it.

Back in the day, the fear of being beaten almost to death by neighbors would keep people from doing things like that.

I'm annoyed that there is no such thing as home postal delivery where I live so porch piracy isn't even a thing here. We just have regular thieves that break into our houses, jack our stuff, and shoot us if we come home while they're doing it.

Actually shooting a fleeing person in the back would net you a murder charge... unless you are a police officer and said person fleeing is a minority, of course.

Maybe it's caused by karma. Stealing is bad after all.

manslaughter is not enough ..

police can shoot people in the back ?.. interesting..

any proven cases where they got away with it ?

i don't take sides when it comes to killing..

if you have a case to bring up.. i would like to see the evidences first .. since it will be a case by case basis for me

cops were shot while eating lunch or filling up gass.. so i don't blame them for being jumpy..

but pretty sure all of them know that you can't shoot a fleeing suspect in the back.. not just the police but all law abiding citizens know this..

I just make preparations so that I never really have to worry about it... Then again I don't live in the ghettos and I really have no worries about anything of mine being stolen.

I guess the last thing I had stolen from me was my CPR mask set. Then again I was lifeguarding in silver city (slang for ghettos at my place) at that time. Just had the Red Cross send me another. They were understanding.

thanks for the link but what i asked was

is there any cop that shot a fleeing criminal and got away with it?

pretty sure all of them were charged with manslaughter

**updated**..

well unless you tried to kill like in this video.. so it doesn't matter if you ran away after..

the move used by the police officer is like a move from Stranglehold or Max Payne games !

woke up this morning and got 3 emails from my HOA

porch pirates are everywhere.. if people think because i live in a nice/wealthy community.. that will not happened to me..

now that i know we also have the problem here in this community.. i think it's the perfect time to set up my bait boxes with chicken manure inside..

have to set up a camera right at the front door as well.. will have some nice footage for social media and the police department..

this looks expensive though :/ so unless this bench is bolted down there's no point

New product could help you prevent 'porch pirates'
