I've been wondering this for awhile... How do you increase your self confidence or self esteem?

I've never really had much confidence in anything I make. I've always scrapped things purely because I didn't know if they were good or bad. I can't tell what I make is good or bad at times. I've kinda increased my self confidence in doing some things that are considered to be good however I can't tell if its false praise or not. I've been trying to boost my self confidence mostly to be more confident when making things. I don't want to keep scrapping stuff based on just not having enough confidence with myself to make something good.

So what are some ways you increase your self confidence/self esteem if its possible?

Have you had issues with self confidence or self esteem?

It's funny
For me I never really had a way of increasing my confidence
The way I see it is, I just gotta do what I gotta do
So I gained like a 'fake' confidence as I like to call it
I come off as confident but I'm far from it

what works for me is taking care of myself. Say exercising, eating healthier, taking care of my nails, hair and skin. AND of course.... Buying new clothes. Thats an instant lifter.

+1

When people started noticing the results I got from consistently going to the gym it definitely help build my confidence. When I got in better shape, clothes I bought would also fit me better which was a plus.

"Courage isn't the absence of fear, but the ability to overcome it." The way I see it, what courage is to fear, confidence is to doubt.

In a sense, all confidence is "fake". A normal person's always going to harbor worries and self-doubt. After all, only a fool isn't conscious of the possibility of failing. Confidence is what allows you to take action despite it.

Ugh, I feel like I'm going to come across like that, "You can do iittt!!!" guy.

Show us something you've made that you're proud of! Sometimes it helps to just show off a bit.

Confidence is something you have to give to yourself, no one can really give it to you. I think two things, at least for me, have been the most helpful for me. First: Give myself a chance, I can never prove my worth if I don't let myself try my best. Second: Forgive myself when I fail despite my best efforts, reflect on it and why it didn't work that time, and then try again; just because I fail does not mean I am a failure, it means I have the gumption to get better.

I'm not a great artist, my drawing skills honestly suck, but I repeat positive things about my art, and do my best to look for all the best things in what I do, only that way can I improve; be your own best friend.

Idk if that's helpful, but I hope you find some use in it ^.^

Usually if I'm debating with myself on whether or not something create is good or bad, I usually just keep working on it until I know its good
