do other rich people have this kind of stuff? probably, sure, at least to some extent. but it sure seems like trump loves to flaunt his extravagant wealth a lot more than the average politician. which makes sense, given that being super rich was kind of his whole gimmick before being super racist became his whole gimmick

I bet Trump gives more to charities than the Clintons stole from the people of Haiti, and that's quite a bit. Yeah he is a 'super racist' keep drinking that Kool-Aid.

spending large amounts money on a political campaign with a cause people actually would have benefited from (as in, not letting trump screw over pretty much everyone) is "disgusting" while spending large amounts of money on gold-plated furniture for your penthouse in a tower named after yourself is perfectly reasonable, apparently

It's called the real estate business. You don't think trump makes a profit from people leasing space in his buildings? People who work for a living have to make a profit in order to survive. We can't all get kickbacks from the Saudis, bankers, unions and tech companies.

i mean, i was talking about the part of it that, as far as i'm aware, is specifically for trump and his family to live in

but like . . . are you seriously trying to compare trump to the average american here? saying he's this honest hardworking guy who HAS to attract customers with gold-plated furniture or whatever just to make ends meet? i don't even know how to respond to that because it's the dumbest thing i've heard in a long time

No I'm saying he earned his money and can do whatever he likes with it. I bet Hillary has a bunch of gold plated adult diaper baskets and such. God only knows what perverted things Bill Clintion had gold plated.. Do you think he is the only rich dude with gold plated stuff?? 'i don't even know how to respond to that because it's the dumbest thing i've heard in a long time'

my point is that using money to further a political cause other average people could actually benefit from is generally considered a more morally acceptable thing than spending insane amounts on your own personal luxuries, so it's interesting that the former is the only one you take issue with. i just think it's weird how trump supporters tend to act like they distrust the wealthy elite while at the same time worshipping an exaggerated stereotype of an Evil Rich Guy

do other rich people have this kind of stuff? probably, sure, at least to some extent. but it sure seems like trump loves to flaunt his extravagant wealth a lot more than the average politician. which makes sense, given that being super rich was kind of his whole gimmick before being super racist became his whole gimmick

whoops, sorry, i forgot that directly pandering to racists with every dog-whistle imaginable isn't enough to identify someone as a racist. you're not allowed to call anyone a racist unless they show you their official certificate of racism while proudly declaring "i am a racist" in full klan regalia =o

You seem to have an unhealthy obsession with race, but I'll leave it at that and move along.

But he funded his own campaign. Don't care for how much he spent if it was his own money and not the people's.

aren't you the guy who used to start like a bunch of "look at this fake video of black people attacking a trump supporter" or whatever types of threads?

but I'M the one who has an "obsession with race" just because i casually mentioned that trump was a racist and you responded to it and i responded to that. okay then

Yes, I often wear my KKK robe and hat while posting fake videos of fake black people beating up fake trump supporters. It makes me feel sexy.

i know this is supposed to be sarcastic and all but honestly it's super telling how you guys default to these kinds of "yes i am a big evil racist muhahaha" responses whenever you don't have an argument. it's like, instead of trying to reevaluate anything about your views or the people you support, or even explain how trump and his supporters supposedly aren't racist, you'd rather just laugh it off because racism is not a real issue to you and "racist" is not a particularly bad thing to be accused of being

like, i guess in this context it's fair since we're getting pretty off-topic here (not that the intended topic has much merit in the first place) but i've seen it a lot and i think this kind of response says a lot more about your mindset than you intend it to

I think this topic is informative, interesting, and humorous, all at the same time. It's a trifecta of awesomeness, if I do say so myself. But I'm just a simple racist, hillbilly, redneck, deplorable from the sticks, so I'm easily amused.

Clinton’s expensive machine tore through $131.8 million in just the final weeks, finishing with about $839,000 on hand as of Nov. 28.

Team Trump spent $94.5 million in the home stretch — from Oct. 20 to Nov. 28 — and had $7.6 million left.

The figures include all spending by the campaigns, PACs and party committees.

Trump contributed $66 million from his own pocket, $34 million less than he estimated he would shell out.

Brad Parscale, Trump’s digital director, credited strategic last-minute investments with helping propel the political newcomer to victory.

Trump sure knows how to spend money effectively... He's going to be good for the economy.

I guess we will know how much Trump epent as soon as he releases his tax records

That should happen around 2117

Trump, who locked down the first win of his mere 17-month old political career with 289 electoral votes to Clinton’s 218, raised $306 million between his official campaign committee and outside groups as of Oct. 28. In particular, the president-elect did especially well with individual contributions and smaller ones, raising more than $105.3 million and $67.6 million, respectively. He spent $285.5 million, according to OpenSecrets.

Funny. When the right spends large amounts the left always bashes them
but when the left does it, it's always for a "good cause" / spun positive...

Actually, Trump won 306 electoral college votes, to Clinton's 232 votes...

How much of this was Saudi money? They were one of Clinton's largest contributors. Strange how the news outlets talk about Russian interference, but no one wants to talk about the interference of Saudi Arabia on Clinton's campaign fund.
