Does it makes sense to put ice in already cold water?

I like my water at 600 pascals, you haven't really had water till you've drunk it while it freezing and boiling at the same time.

At any rate, yes, it makes sense. More sense than putting your water in a vacuum chamber at any rate.

Water that is already cold, can be kept cold, by adding ice. Cold water without ice will warm up. As long as there is ice in water, the water will remain at 32 degrees (Fahrenheit), until that ice melts away completely.

If you put ice in your cup, there would be less room for the water.
So wouldn't put ice in already cold water, since Id be getting less water per cup with no appreciable difference in temperature.

I'd only put ice in if you were gonna wait to drink it, because that way it could stay cold. Otherwise there is not much point.

Living in south Florida, we put ice in everything. It gets hot-as-balls down here.

I love crushed ice and like crunching on it. But I hear it's bad for your teeth.

It's good if your gonna drink it over a long period of time. The ice slowly melts and refills your cup with cold water.

I like my water to stay cold. Not good for sodas though, since if you don't drink it within the next hour or two it'll get watered down and taste like diluted shit juice.

The real question is: If a roll is crunchy, does that make it a biscuit? A topic for another time, perhaps.

What if it's not cold enough? What if it's just mildly cold? Then it's not as refreshing as ice-cold water that satisfies your brain cells.

Depends on who you ask. If it were my mother, she'd say it's necessary despite it being 60 in the house and the drink being refrigerated for hours. I recall having this argument with her when I was a kid and relatives had come over for the holidays.

Not so much water. But if you have an already cold Cola, ice can ease the fizz down and make it less intense on the tongue.

Closed since it's been more than two months since the last post, and OP has just started a very similar thread in the Polls forum:
