This was one of my fav anime for a long while. Though not my first samurai type, which was ronin warriors.

I would love to see some love go into those series, but as long as the animation isn't too cartoony like they have done to DBS. But that has turned into all kinds of bad and is a topic for another thread.

There's also JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Parasyte, and Ushio & Tora which got new anime, and the fact that Rurouni Kenshin is getting a new manga soon.

Now might be the best time to make a new anime.

Oh yeah I remember they all got new anime series, and hopefully the same will happen for Rurouni Kenshin :)

Yeah, hopefully if a good animation studio like Bones, Sunrise, Kyoto, TMS Entertainment, or whoever were to do it, it would still look like a decent anime. Hopefully they'll still keep the same 90s goodness and put some of the nice 2010s HD quality on it. And hopefully all the fight scenes will still look awesome like it did in the original anime.

I'm really surprised with reboots happening left and right that RK hasn't been done yet, though it did have the live actions, but it's not the same......

Also agree on Flame of Recca and going to add in one of my personal favorites that got screwed in its anime adaption - Houshin Engi. Great manga and the anime is watchable but nowhere near the same level.... Especially since it only had 26 episodes.

Oh and Angel Sanctuary. A full length series for that would be seriously amazing.

I agree, it's just not the same :/

Yeah, I think those series need another chance to animate the manga in its entirety because they deserve a second chance and hopefully gain more fans.

It should but no one wants to do it because if they fuck it up there will be a huge back slash. Also it's would expensive to make the action sences flow like they do in the manga.

Flame of Recca's manga is available digitally. The anime is here on CR. The original anime only covers the first 16 volumes (out of 33), cuts out a lot of the fun and humor, and is just bland. It deserves a proper anime.

Yu Yu Hakusho was fully adapted. The final arc was actually expanded on and improved in the anime.

But yeah, Rurouni Kenshin would be great. It would be kind of lame if they made a Hokkaido anime adaption while skipping a whole arc in the story. The best thing to do would be to start the anime over.

No it was not they missed the last mini arc in YYH if your read the manga but hay theta nitpicking

Yes! It definitely needs to be remade! We need more Kenshin and less moe and Keijo!

So, neither of Gensai's granddaughters or Misao, then?

who thinks it shouldn't? lol

as for the argument that it has long finished, well, look at parasyte. that manga ended in the 80s and got a full anime last year so... it's totally possible ^^

Well those were just cute not moe. And Misao was badass not some dreary eyed damsel in distress who needed a big onii chan. Ok she needed Shinomori Aoshi, but other than that no one else.

I think it's been at least ten years since I watched/read Rurouni Kenshin.. I'd be okay with a reboot/remake of most of it, I suppose. I wasn't particularly enthused with a lot of the series.

Tsuiokuhen or the Trust & Betrayal OVA or whatever you want to call it is kind of sacrosanct though. I'd be annoyed if they attempted to include that in a remake and it wasn't mind-blowingly good.

We don't even have a full adaptation of Akira (the movie is only about half the manga if that). I doubt we will ever get one of this.

I would like to see a new Rurouni Kenshin anime. However, today's anime is about 13 episodes long now.

That's because they don't have enough material most of the time which wouldn't be a problem with this.
