Update by moderator: This thread was originally started as a way to share and discuss tweets by Donald Trump. Over time it expanded to include general Trump-related news. OP recently completely changed the opening post--replacing the original one, instead of simply adding new info to it. The specificity of the replacement post didn't lend to a very good discussion starter, so I've removed it.

Let's leave this thread as it has been for a while - Trump-related news, twitter or otherwise, discussion.

Okay, so apparently, so far he's....somebody who pals around with other rich-jerk billionaire CEO's, and hands out buddy-jobs.

Don't think think we're too far off the rails with THAT soul-revelation.

I don't think this is necessary, or a good idea. Do crunchygoers need or want a thread of what Trump is saying? Can't we just go to his Twitter feed ourselves? I personally feel like I already hear enough about Trump from both sides. I suppose GD readers will decide.

Also, this may not turn out how you want it to; Trump has said and linked to a lot of things. And I kind of think that it's impossible to separate the Trump phenomenon from internet bickering.

We wanted him to get Washington outsiders. When you exclude most politicians the closest thing to having experience for these positions is being a business executive or a commander/general of some sort as they are used to delegating responsibilities out and managing top level positions. I wonder how this will turn out myself, at least its different from the same old failing formula we've been trying and failing at for decades.

irregardless of what trump does, the political left will find some way to make it seem like it is a bad thing.

Let me get this straight: You want us to pay attention to his Twitter feed and you think that is somehow a good thing?

Have you just never read his Twitter feed or something? >.>

His access to and complete lack of self control over Twitter has consistently shown us the absolute worst side of him. I kind of doubt that is what you were going for here.

I enjoy his tweets. Each character in the tweet is like a tiny sliver of glass in the eyes of many Liberals.

And an endless supply of salt . No but seriously, I like his tweets too because it's a way to speak directly to the people without it being filtered and twisted by the mainstream media.

No, i mean simply being objective and practicing good journalism. This is the same group of people that openly either supported or ignored Hillary Clinton's own transgressions and gave attention to the fact that trump called a miss universe pagent contestant fat 20 years ago or said what he said on those access Hollywood tapes instead of talking about policy. Also, using words like racist, misogynistic, xenophobic, etc have never been good arguments and yet the political left consistently embrace the usage of these buzzwords.

It is fine that somebody criticizes trump. in fact, it is a good thing. However, one must use good arguments and logical reasoning to back up their statements which is something that the political left does not do. It is about objectivity first and foremost. However, the left, which makes up most of the media, isn't objective but rather extremely biased.

What? There have been a myriad of objective reasons given for criticizing Trump, not just as a candidate, but as a human being. Yes, discussing policy is important, but discussing the views, thoughts, and opinions expressed by a candidate is even more important otherwise how do you figure out if they'll attempt to follow through on their promises. "racist, misogynistic, xenophobic" are not just buzzwords, those are important things to be taken into consideration about a presidential candidate.
