Yes, it's a pretty unforgettable experience as far as video games go. It was put up on a pretty high pedestal, so of course there are going to be some things that don't quite hit the mark. But luckily there's just so much they decided to tackle in their endeavor, that it can't possibly be a bad game. I really enjoy the combat system, and the world is literally alive. It's an amazing game.

Sure, if you're prepared for level-grinding, juggling NPC's during battles (briefly controlling them, buffs, and heals), and acting akin to a delivery service for most of the side quests. It's right up my alley, personally. The NPCs can be a bit obnoxious, though it's hardly a deal-breaker. My one complaint is that the NPCs get in the way of spells and they get hurt, but it's not like we can't heal them. Overall, it seems to be a good investment.

Hrm, really? Are you playing in Wait Mode or some such? I never had to ( or even had ) control over other party members in battle save commanding them to use techs when needed. Iggy's Regroup also covers 95% of all healing needs on a day to day basis.

Level grinding isn't really required either. If you need levels just down a triple fat chocobo sandwich at the chocobo ranch for the +50% xp and craft your spells with Coins, Banknotes and Books so they grant XP when you cast them. Go run a few quests then stop off at a inn that gives 2x or 3x xp per stay and boom, up you go 10-15 levels.

I've picked off enemies and world bosses 10-20 levels higher than me though just through being a persistent, stubborn dickhead. The game is fairly lenient in terms of allowing you to deal damage to monsters regardless of level. Its sustaining damage where it will kick your ass if you take on stuff too much stronger than you. But you can avoid damage with phasing, warping and parrying.

I will say that you can get your ass kicked fairly badly in more challenging areas if you neglect to eat well though. The game seems pretty balanced around being well fed and having that extra buffer of HP/defense/attack on.

ask a friend to allow you to share play or rent the game from redbox or gamefly and see for yourself

they are planning to release some FREE dlcs to add/fix certain things in the game.. so maybe get the game after the dlcs might be ideal..

you can always read reviews.. http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-4/final-fantasy-xv

look for sale on this game.

i got this game for $32.. but another gamer wanting to buy it from me.. so i'm selling it back for $45..

i i'll make some profit and he will get the game he wants $15 less no tax either .. it's a win win situation for the both of us

FFXV will be on sale for $40 at Target and Bestbuy starting on 12/25/2016.

if you also have GCU (gamer club unlocked) then it's $32 (or just ask a friend who has it buy it for you and pay him back..

Grab the demo. Its actually a separate sort of prologue to the story and finishing it unlocks one of the summons in the main game.

For a game that was touted and hyped as much as it was, I'd say it lived up to it for the most part. It's worth it.

I just bought this like 10 minutes ago. I was on the fence about FFXV but with the mostly positive reviews and that price, I couldn't resist. Plus it will be here on my day off. Perfect.

i was thinking of getting Bestbuy to price match (since i will earn 2x points for buying games from them + 6% cash back..

but they ran out of copies.. and the promotion will expire tomorrow from amazon.

howevere there will be another sale this sunday.. bestbuy will have FFXV for $40 with GCU it's $32

none of the new games managed to keep its $60 price this holiday season ..

FFXV is already hitting low $30 mark already..
