I noticed I'm already way overpowered. When I do story missions I annihilate everything in a second. I guess that's thanks to doing most of the side missions and hunts. And also wisely staying in hotels when I racked up a ton of EXP.

I just need to find a good spot to level up my fishing. I'm a little behind while everyone else is around level 10 with their personal skills.

I made the mistake of being level 92 when I started chapter 9, worse thing ever I tell ya.

As for fishing, I'd recommond the Galdin Shoals, it's the fishing spot on the other side of the beach from the beginners spot. You can catch a good amount fish that give out decent fishing exp quickly with the rod and reel you get from the Vesperpool shop.

Wow, I'm level 55 in chapter 8 and I think that's overpowered. What id you do to be level 92 in chapter 9?

Staying in the hotel at Galdin Quay whenever I had a couple hundred thousand exp and never running from a single fight. It also helps if you never camp, saving all that sweet exp for the hotel at Galdin Quay. I can't really recommend being level 92 and starting chapter 9 though , it cheapens the challenge of the rest of the story.

After Chapter 9

I beat the shit out of Leviathan then get berated from Galoius for being a coward. I'm kinda sour now. The bro crew sucks.

I've heard a lot of good things about it. I'll have to see if I could get it in the next couple of weeks or so.

From what I've played, it's ok, nothing spectacular. Had my hopes high for this one, wasn't utterly disappointed with it, but was not pleased with it either. If you're looking for a well-written story, you should forget about this game, since it's the biggest mess of story-telling I've seen in a long time. This coming from a Final Fantasy game can somewhat ruin your experience but it depends on what you're looking for in a game. The main characters are pretty likable tho, can't deny that. The side characters however are treated horribly, but I won't spoil anything for you.
It definitely does not top FFIX, which is one of my absolute favorite games of all time. You're missing out on something if you haven't played that one.
One extremely good aspect I can say about the game is its soundtrack. Yoko Shimomura does not disappoint. Other than that I find the game to be just 'ok'.

Got through the dreaded chapter 13. Wow, that was bad.

I guess I could go ahead and finish the game but there's some extra dungeons I haven't done yet.

I'm level 73. Do you guys recommend I level up some or can I just tackle he end game already? I'm feeling like I'm done with this game already.

I played through the main story in about 35 hours and finished at lvl 43. It's fun and I enjoyed the combat system they have for this one. I am currently replaying it with my characters from my original saved game. I am going to focus on more side missions and exploring this time and try to really enjoy the world and places in it.

I started the game and 5 or 6 hours into it and took a break. Haven't really wanted to pick it back up yet, it's just so different from what I look for in a FF game. This is coming from someone who's played pretty much every FF that released in the US.

If you waited so long for a new FF game, then yes, but I'm not a huge fan of rpgs. I'm more of a Wild Arms, Digital Devil Saga, Legend of Heroes or Valkyria Chronicles fan and I also prefer dark fantasy-themed rpgs.

You'll be fine, I did it @ level 70 and destroyed the bosses with my might. I did Costlemark Tower though before heading to Altissia. That got a little hairy near the end...

I've only just started it myself, but I've watched my husband play it twice already, and I think it's definitely worth a play. It's gorgeous (as FF games tend to be...) and the combination of real-world technology with fantasy elements makes for a really unique setting. The story isn't as impressive as previous FFs, but the interactions between the main characters make up for that. Husband's only real complaint was that there wasn't enough actual fantasy in it compared to previous FF games, but obviously it was a good enough game that he's played it more than once. I say give it a try!

This comes with some delay but at least i can get this over with.

I've played this game about 35 hours and i'm currently at the start of Chapter 7. Am i enjoying this? Yes. Exploring is fun, combat is satisfying (although i don't know if that's the right word) and so on. Although the game is on hold for some time, i will finish it soon.

Do i recommend it? Like the game says, "A Final Fantasy for Fans and First-Timers", i'd say yes. At least, consider before buying.

This may not be much, but hopefully it helps, in some ways.

I'd recommend it. I enjoyed the combat system and it was easy for me to level up. Finished the boss quickly since I was overpowered and ended up finishing the game at 100%. I'm still doing the side missions after you beat the main story though.
