A second season interests me as first season basically was humanity destroying what was left of civilised humanity. This is the point it should really get interesting and I dare say Amazon's exclusivity came via a bigger bag of cash than usual streaming alternatives so it's win win really. Show was under rated, think studio in mind people begrudged it as they were after AOT season 2.

Great! Glad people enjoyed it. My point still stands. Better shows without a glimmer of another season yet.

Well, it kind of is a fact there were higher rated shows from that season. Attack on Trains ended up 8th I believe so...

Why?

You kinda expected it byt AOT goes off first thys the 2018 date

I mean it was... okay. But, not much more. Meanwhile better (imho) shows like Flying Witch, Tanaka-kun, and Anne-Happy will probably never see a second season... Maybe Flying Witch if we're lucky.

You kinda expected it but AOT goes off first thus the 2018 date

I do agree A big RANT of mine why dont they finish off the anime that were popular and need more cour ( s ) and or closure . A Certain Magical Index comes to mind . Silver Spoon Just to name a couple

Some of the mangas arent finished like Yona of The Dawn / Snow White with Red Hair.

Highschool of the Dead ( come on author )

Some of my requests Mayo Chiki! / The Devil is A Part Timer / The World Is Still Beautiful / Barakamon / Yozakura Quartet / Baby Steps ( Just a few )

The anime for Mayo Chiki! imo is nothing compared to the manga. Devil is a Part Timer may get a second season but it's rough to say. High school of the dead has 2 seasons of manga. I have both of the full-colored manga which the second one goes past the anime.

At the same pace as the original series, the remaining manga for HOTD comes up a bit short, equivalent to about 8 episodes. They would either have to add filler, slow down the pacing a lot, or go with an anime original ending (which they might as well, given that who knows when or if the manga might resume).

Just sad that more deserving shows we are still waiting for, but that Amazon money and hype train is just too big.

I'm not saying it was a bad show. Just many more deserving shows out there and waiting is getting old.

The problem is that "deserving shows" is in the eye of the beholder. In the end, sequels get made because companies are convinced they can probably make money on a title. While DVD/BD sales in Japan are on easy indicator of financial success, they certainly aren't the only one. Even if you have two series with equal sales, if series #1 had a big promotional budget and lavish animation budget and series #2 had next to none, obviously series #2 was more profitable.

Even beyond money, there are other factors that can strangle the chances of a sequel, such as being able to get the cast and staff back together and if not an original anime, author approval and/or lack of source material.

I understand all this. Doesn't make it suck any less. But, I guess this is why people like Uwe Bole were able to make so many terrible movies for so long.

I'll just keep bitching until White Fox makes more Devil is a Part-Timer or something.
