Does anyone know any good Christmas movies to watch ?
Posted 12/15/16 , edited 12/15/16
I am just wondering because I have never really watched many Christmas movies . The only ones I have watched are Home alone and Bad Santa . So if you have any good ones to watch please feel free to suggest them . Thanks a lot . By the way they cannot have Adam Sandler or Will Ferrell in them because I do not find them funny .

Well if you want anime the only one really worth recommending is Tokyo Godfathers. Most of the other good ones are part of other franchises and require prior series knowledge.

My favourite Christmas movie is Joyeux Noel but I also like A Christmas Carol (Pretty much all versions I have seen except the Jim Carrey and Bill Murray ones)A Christmas tale, The Snowman and Tangerine.

If you're looking for more goofy stuff I recommend Jingle All the Way, the Ice Harvest and A Nightmare Before Christmas.

I'll also recommend Tokyo Godfathers. I watched it on tv by chance and I really liked it. I also recently saw Rise of the Guardians, and even though I don't think it can be classified as a real christmas movie, it still has a lot of elements that work for the occasion, and overall it's a really good and fun movie.

Another animated movie that I can really recommend is Arthur Christmas. It's very fast paced, goofy and silly, just as an animated christmas movie should be, but it manages to be really fun and clever.

The Polar Express feat Tom Hanks was pretty good i think.
for anime, it's not a movie, but Snow Halation MV from Love Live is pretty Christmas-like. there's also 1 episode in Love Live season 2 (it was episode 8 i think...?)

Tokyo Godfathers for sure.

I also like cheesy old Christmas movies like Santa Claus Conquers the Martians. Santa Claus (a Mexican film from the 60's) is so bad and weird that it becomes oddly surreal at times, and Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny is so amazingly bad that it's pretty much unwatchable.

Mystery Science Theatre 3000 did both Santa Claus Conquers the Martians and Santa Claus, and Riff Trax (the successor to MST3K did Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny. I recommend finding their versions.

I always suggest A Christmas Story. I've seen it a million times but still find it funny. Outside of my own nostalgia, though, I'm not sure if I can say it would hold up or not but it's worth a look.
