I don't write my news show for 4 more hours. This is all I can do until then.

I find people's general apathy towards extinction to be somewhat ridiculous, but it's cool I guess. I mean, we'll be affected by extinction eventually, probably anyway. I will also say that we're the best at killing each other; and, we really ought to keep up the good work.

According to http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/evolution/change/deeptime/low_bandwidth.html

The story of life is told primarily by its ghosts -- the victims of extinction. Scientists say that only one in a thousand species that have ever lived survives today. The other 99.9 percent are extinct, gone forever.

Then 75% is No biggie

whatever happens happens all we can do is work to stop them from dying not much you or me can do about it except not hunt them.

We kill more organisms indirectly rather than directly. The current environmental crisis is due to our negligence and general apathy for the Earth's health. Obviously there are people that aim to save our planet; but, I think it's safe to say that most people couldn't care less about what happens to life on Earth. Granted that it doesn't impact their lives, of course. I think we waste so much, because that behavior has been normalized in society. In essence, "It's just what we do." I don't think we can morally allow a species's extinction when we're likely responsible to begin with. We're beyond our hunter-gather stage in our evolution, and it's no longer really necessary. So, let's progress as a species instead of regress as a wasteful society. That's just my opinion, and I probably seem a bit spiteful but it's okay.
