Do you buy things that you don't need or want ? simply because it was on sale ?.. or you need a certain amount to get free shipping or $10 credit on $50 purchase.. etc..?

https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/consumer-behavior/201303/five-reasons-we-impulse-buy

This holiday season.. Kohl's had an offer for their PS4 bundle buy $50 get $10 Kohl's cash

so the $250 PS4 bundle you will get $75 Kohl's cash..

it's not a good purchase if you read through the terms

sine the Kohl's Cash will expire within 1 month or so

i'm sure people will most likely buy stuff that they don't need before the expiration date

Yep. I once spent $180 on two RC helicopters at the mall. I was so excited to use them - only to find out they're strictly inside helicopters and can't withstand wind speeds higher than 5mph... Went on Amazon and the same two helicopters are only $60 total. And the mall had a no returns policy. FML.

Not really, if I want to buy something I usually spend about a week thinking about whether I should buy it or not.

Unless it's food. Then I buy on impulse.

I really don't buy stuff. The last time I impulsively bought something was when I was in Berlin. I was walking near Alexanderplatz when I walked by a store with a stein in the window. This made me do the thing of walking backwards with my head turned to the window. I got one with the Prussian eagle on it because Deutschland. So I spent 60 euro on a decorative stein. Aside from that, no.

More often than not, yes. It's an unfortunate tendency of mine that has dealt some serious damage to my wallet.

It depends on the thing, the mood I'm in, and if I can have it immediately or will have to wait for it.

but tbh one of the worst things to happen to my impulse buying though are the "treat yo self" episodes of parks and rec.

Occasionally, but I think I waste more money on impulse projects than I do when I'm walking through a store (or browsing online) and see something that I think I might like to have at some point or another--even if I don't really need it now. So, despite already having a guitar, I bought the parts to build a Stratocaster style electric, and while it was cheaper than buying an authentic Strat, it was really unnecessary and more for the experience than anything. In the same manner, I started picking out parts to build a matching bass pretty much right after finishing it.

Food and alcohol... sometimes.

If I am buying a new car, laptop, TV, console or software... I WILL BROWSE IT FOR MONTHS BEFORE I CHOOSE. I have currently been looking at a few new laptops for gaming/GIS for about 3 months now.

I do this too.

Sometimes. If I see something on "sale," I'll usually make the purchase. Ideally, I'd like to think it over first....but that usually doesn't happen.
