Aram is Robin to Yuri's Batman and it feels like they are casting aside Batman to focus on Robin. Have to wait until movie 3 to come out to see how that all plays out I suppose.

...So I take it you don't actually know much about Batman and Robin story lines? lol. Since Robin focused series have been around for years, and they've all been received well? With Teen titans and the Nightwing series, Tim's wildly popular Robin series that went from 1992 to 2009, not to mention Young Justice comics, Jason's Outlaws series, even that little shit Damian had the popular Robin, Son of Batman series. Casting aside Batman and focusing on Robin has almost always lead to successful and interesting storylines, you need a better comparison, dude.

Well, I finished this movie trilogy including the final part. As I had expected, they had Juliana and the others mount their attack. I'm not too surprised that they gave Juliana lot of spotlight for her fight.

The final battle between Aram and Yuri was also inevitable too, only that the others also came to Aram's help. Pretty predictable fight in the end. Darkness was the Yuri's own enemy and he overcame it. Overall, this movie was average to me. Everything was really generic and storytelling felt predictable from almost start to finish.

I did like Aram's role overall in this as my favorite character. As far as the movie goes, there wasn't anything that really impressed me in the end.

Well, Chain Chronicle has ended and I'm really sad it's over, I enjoyed every minute of this anime.

As I've said before, it's great to see so many Chain Chronicle characters being brought to life on the screen like this. The third and final movie was really an excellent showcase of the characters introduced throughout, culminating in an epic battle for the fate of the world.

Speaking of which, I really must commend Chain Chronicle again for its consistently high quality animation. All the colours are beautifully saturated and used lavishly throughout. Even the scenes with the Black King are awash with colour, as ominously glowing purples and other fluorescent hues light-up the area. Plus, the occasional use of CGI in certain action scenes was understated and integrated nicely with the more traditional 2D animation. It's safe to say that Chain Chronicle is easily one of the best looking anime of the season.

Sega has been on a roll in recent years with financing so many anime. (Never mind that Sega also owes TMS Entertainment and therefore Detective Conan, Lupin the 3rd etc.) Mostly recently with Phantasy Star Online 2, the Persona 5 special and now Chain Chronicle. I can't wait to see what anime Sega has planned in the future.

Hi, I'm new to this series (never even heard of the game), but it looks interesting. Before I jump into it, I noticed that there is a "TV Version" and a "Movie Version" both uploaded to CR. Both have "episodes," so I was wondering what is the difference between the 2? I would appreciate it greatly if someone could explain this to me.

Thanks a ton in advance!

There's no significant difference between the Movie Version and the TV version. As an anime Chain Chronicle was original a cinema release, as three feature lengths movies. A short time later these movies were (by design) broken up into 12 TV episodes for a broadcast release.

As a matter of practicality, the only real difference is that each 'episode' of the TV version will have an intro and outro sequence, while the movie 'episodes' with usually just jump straight into the next part of the story. Either way the story should be exactly the same, choose whichever version you like.

Got it, thanks a lot for the informative response! I appreciate it! I'll probably go with the TV Version for the usual anime feel of having an intro and outro haha.

I finished this when it ended but i only bothered to write about this now.

Since it's based on a game, i though i would love play the game someday. But i read that it has too many stories and it was somewhat complicated, i'll just leave that. And it doesn't even seem to available no longer.

But back to the anime. I watched both, movie and TV version. Aside that TV version has OP and ED songs, there's hardly anything different. ONLY rarely. Episode 12 for example, TV version doesn't have the last scene with Juliana and Burckhardt. At least i recall that.

Did i enjoy this? Yes. The idea that Yuri turned to evil side was an interesting concept. Because of that, i thought that he would be THE main hero but after that, it's Aram. Sure, Yuri gets saved and all but... Yeah.

If there's anything i have to dislike or such, there are some things. First of all, there are too many characters. Since it's based on a RPG, that's expected but since some of them appear at times, it can be hard recall their names, unless you write them up. Second, it's rather minor but acceptable but. fancservice. However, it's on OK level. Finally, there are some parts that leave scratching my head.

- I recall it was on Episode 10. By any chance i don't mean to be a pervert or anything but that short undressing part. What it was for? I don't think it was ever explained.
- Same episode. Near the end, Burckhardt is knocked off that ship but little time later, he's somehow back. Why, or rather, how?

Aside from those, it's pretty good fantasy story, with some twists and surprises. Even the ending did surprise a bit by that how Black King was a former good guy (take your lessons, Validar). Based on the ending, i don't think it needs a sequel, at least right now. It's wrapped up pretty well. 8/10.

Last few things i have to mention is that Movie version becomes available to non-Premiums in the year... 9990? Right... As well as, shame on you who said that Sega's animes are better than their consoles. And, i want my own Furball!
