Now at&t/DirecTV / CR is forcing DirecTV's vrv service adds on prime users via the CR app. So welcome to the new Cr. And there will be no way to block adds on vrv.

I just stop visiting sites with annoying ads, especially anything with autoplay. It is pretty easy to avoid services that give you more spam than content. For free TV I just live with them... If it is worth my time to watch then it is worth my time to make sure the producer gets paid and half the time the ads are better than the show. If CR ever started doing the Hulu thing showing ads to paying customers I'd drop premium.

i guess it's an on going battle between ads vs anti-ads

instead of the formal name like anti-adblock, now it's fuck adblock..

Well I keep hearing that ublock is better. But I've been using adblock plus for the last decade or so, and it's never failed me. So I'll probably just continue to stick with that.

Ad block Plus is my favorite, No Script is more for protection from hackers.

Yep, and it tends to break ads and tracking in addition to helping stop malware should ad get through.

I've always used ad-block plus since joining firefox. I tend to turn it off on certain sites so it helps benefits them, but it's also useful to block images you don't want to see. I have also learned that once you add privacy badger to your list of add-ons this helps block even more ads that want to force themselves in, including harmful tracking sites that could attach something nasty to your system. after all, we may have our haunts, that we visit and can trust, but we can also visit sites not so trusting.
