The Naruto and Boruto stage event at the Jump Festa event announced on Saturday that Ukyō Kodachi and Mikie Ikemoto's Boruto manga is getting a new anime that will premiere in April 2017. The official Twitter account for Viz Media's Shonen Jump digital anthology confirmed the news on Saturday, but didn't specify if the new anime will be a television series.

Naruto and Boruto manga creator Masashi Kishimoto said during the stage event about the new project, "I plan to make it even better than Naruto."

"I plan to make it even better than Naruto."
Hopefully less flashbacks and fillers (and flashback filler).

I don't know whether it's going to be good or not. It's not gonna be the same as Naruto but I'm looking forward to it none the less

I'm excited for Boruto! It's probably because I've always been a sucker for "next gen" sequels to my favorite shows/movies (The Lion King immediately comes to mind). Anyway I'm very happy that the Boruto movie is finally coming stateside and the Boruto TV series is going to stream on Crunchyroll

It's already stumbled in my oninion now. 700+ episode and there is Naruto Manga that never got turned into anime because they wanted to rush this show. If that wasn't bad enough there was No attempt to Go from Naruto to Boruto. We saw next to noting about naruto after the war . This isn't like naruto to naruto shippendu . Why? Well from everything told so far we pulled a peter parker effect with the ninja world and tore it all down to make it eaiser to write for Boruto. Giveing a nice middle finger to the people who have watched 10 years 700+ episodes of naruto. With no effort to show this it will just leave a nasty taste in viewer mouths. I fear to compare it to something else this will be the "legand of korra "to "the Last airbender". It will have a good 1st season then nose dive and never live up to it's predecessor. I liked Korra but lets not kid ourself about it. I fear Boruto will do the same. There even putting the old comic Book trick of showing the ending before the begaining to make us think they have a soild plan when we know there no source material for boruto the anime is going to be in the lead on this.
