Between Trump's disregard for democratic norms and the catastrophe in North Carolina, I'm starting to get a little worried.

the system is working as intended. just because you and people near you don't like him, it doesn't mean others don't like him either.
the US is a republic, the Presidential candidate is decided through electors, not through popular vote.
and no, the sky is not falling, no matter how much WP want us to believe.

There hasn't been an American "democracy" ever since the entrenchment of the faux two party system and the deep entanglement between business interests and government

I mean if the FBI and CIA are right about Russian hacking and shit, then sure, but I dont see how your examples add up to the death of democracy in really any capacity.

Democracy died when Obama took office. Hopefully Trump can revive it with CPR.

Please, give Donald Trump a chance. He won in our current system, and that's reality. Personally, I can't say that I like him but at the very least he deserves a chance. Don't worry, even as POTUS Trump can't just strip our rights away, and this fact ought to calm some nerves.

Our republic's survival depends on the acceptance of the norms of democratic behavior. Trump has consistently displayed anti-democratic behavior before and since the election.

And the NC GOP even more so.

If they get their way, you can bet this will start happening in other states.

I hear the NY Times just vacated 8 floors of their building to lease out, because nobody is buying the their bs anymore. Maybe President Trump can get their workers some new jobs.

Living in North Carolina I can say the sky is not falling. Our new governor Roy Cooper will take the state's legislative branch to the State Supreme Court as the bills that were passed are unconstitutional under the state and federal constitutions. As for the two party system people will have to form a new party that has teeth and can fight the two current parties. It has happened before. You don't hear anything about the wig party anymore

I'm a little surprised to read that your just now "starting" to get worried. Have you not been paying attention for this last decade?

Yeah, but I wanted to believe the GOP cared at least a little. Clearly I held onto that faith far too long.

Maybe consider following your own beliefs rather than letting any political party tell you what to think, or how to feel, or what you can say or not say, and claim your right and everybody else is wrong or immoral
