Despite the hype, I think this is going to be a pretty boring procedure.

The chance of an upset is so low that it's hardly worth considering.

I REALLY hope that Hillary ends up being appointed president by some miracle or trickery. The shit storm would be epic and after a few years of civil war, America would be better off for it.

A judge in Colorado had to issue a ruling to make sure the electors vote for Hillary, lol

I don't believe we'll actually know anything about how the electoral vote went down till January, will we? Regardless, their votes would just be challenged and discarded if they weren't correct.

What do you mean not correct? Our vote is meaningless, as it's in the elector's power to vote for who they want regardless.

But, for those of you holding out hope, give it up. The only time that I think that it happened was in 1877 when the electors gave the win to Rutherford Hayes in exchange for him ending restoration.

The elector's vote can be challenged and discarded, apparently.

Live Updates about the Electoral College's votes

Either way, the chance of Clinton actually winning is a little under 2%. I think the Democrats really screwed the pooch when they decided to (once again) attempt to tell people how to vote. One thing I've learned about people over the years is that if you try to tell them not to do something - they're going to do it anyways, just because people hate being told to do or what to think.

Don't think that there won't be arrests of the people that made death threats against the electors. The FBI will probably wait until Trump is in office so that Obama can't pardon them.

Probably won't be any arrests made unless they're made in person, on the spot. There have been a few protestors that were arrested for trying to interrupt electoral voters from casting their votes for Trump. Also the one electoral college member who is obligated to vote Trump (due to popular vote) that stated he won't vote for Trump has received quite a number of death threats from Trump supporters too.

Both sides are acting like spoiled children. Can't say I didn't expect this though.

We'll see. I hope whoever made death threats are arrested, don't care who they are for.

Honestly, despite the fact that I dislike Trump and think that those who believe that he is the "savior of our country" are in for a rude awakening, I do hope the electors go ahead and vote for him. Why? For two reasons:
1. To not vote for Trump would only cause more riots and chaos, and would make the already toxic political environment even more toxic.
2. If enough electors abstain, the vote for who would be president who then go to the house (or maybe it was the senate, I can't remember). Since both parts of congress are now controlled by Republicans, they would probably vote for Trump. Then again.... there is a chance they could use/abuse a certain loophole by abstaining. If enough abstain, then neither Trump nor Hillary will be president. Instead, Pence would be president! This is worst case scenario in my opinion because that evil homophobe should not be president (it's bad enough that he's VP).
