people suggested for a long time for Crunchyroll to add anime movies, but the cost of getting a license to stream the movies would be prohibitively expensive, and the suggestion was rejected almost as soon as it was proposed. here's a different suggestion that just might be economically viable. what IF

Crunchyroll offers to sell digital copies of the movies. Amazon, for example, let people purchase the digital copy of Love Live movie for $5, and once purchased, people can watch the purchased movie with no restriction. in the case of Amazon, people are free to download the movie on their smartphones / tablet to watch offline.

of course, both premium and non-premium users would have to pay to be able to watch the movie, but i'm sure premium users wouldn't mind spending $5 if it's a movie they really like, and is even cheaper than buying a DVD. the movie becomes available immediately after purchase, so there would be no hassle with shipping. as an added bonus, Crunchyroll users would be able to better organize their digital anime collection (as opposed to having purchases of digital goods from several different sites)

what do you guys think? should Crunchyroll let people purchase digital version of anime movies just like Amazon?
Or am i missing a hidden cost somewhere..?

I watched Wolf children on YouTube. ( no I don't condone the right to view movies on YouTube, but opportunity strikes, and it showed up in my recommendations)

How the fuck can you even do that? Seriously, I'm not trying to say that I do this all the time, but everything somehow finds its way to YouTube, and this is the main reason things are falling hard.

Do you know how much work goes into making an animated movie? They are absolutely gorgeous. 5$? More like $34.49

I don't think you understand the value here. This is completely different from a series. They are absolutely unmanageable to license and stream, because logistically it is impossible.

Good luck, because it is impossible unless you had about 2 million dollars to throw around, and that's probably low balling.

there's probably difference in quality, and you're obviously not getting a fancy case / disk.
unless someone over at amazon somehow messed up with the pricing options.

Well ill be damned. $5.

But you are comparing something that doesn't need to worry about money. Love live. I'm sure they can afford to do anything
