So like most people, I'm disappointed with these nominees.

Best Drama without Orange or 91 Days?
Best Action without MSG: Iron Blooded Orphans or Bungo Stray Dogs?
Best Fighting without Bungo Stray Dogs?
Best comedy without Cute High Earth Defense Club or Nanbaka or Please Tell me Galko-chan or Sekko Boys?

Also season 2 of Gate could have been nominated for several categories.

I agree with the nominations for Showa but most of the stuff I actually liked this year is absent from the nominations.

Maybe next time you can do an actual fan vote with write in nominees besides the panel vote?
And maybe take in some of the region restrictions. (Like a Europe's most popular; N.A. most popular; S.A. most popular etc.) Because no matter how long this holiday is, it will never allow me to watch the stuff that hasn't been released in my region.

I'll probably vote though only for categories that actually have a candidate I can get behind. I think the CR award is a great idea, just not loving the way it's set up right now...

This!
Strongly agree.

Xavier Woods is an anime lover?!! WHAT?! I honestly never knew that, but now knowing that he'll be a judge, I can't wait to see what he thinks lol

wait, where's "Orange" or "Kiss him not me"? Orange was a great drama, and honestly, Kiss Him not Me had a great opening and is very comedic. You guys left out many great anime series tbh

Looking forward to seeing who wins in the categories YOI isn't nominated in and thus doesn't have the most rabid fanbase of the year already picking the winner for.

No Flying Witch, no Sound Euphonium, no Orange. They left all the best animes out in my opinion.

Can't wait to see "March comes in like a lion" get robbed.... Oh, wait. Guess I don't have to wait.

I felt that so much when I didn't see it in the best animation category and Yuri on Ice there and I am a Yuri on Ice fan. I am like wait a minute... Yuri on Ice... the anime I docked points because the animation was so bad in episode 11?

*sigh*

I do think it is anime of the year for me though. And Yuri is best boy for me. Though it would be Victor if he was a choice. Seriously who chose this list?

I am just going to hope it doesn't win best animation even as a Yuri on Ice fan... I admit, episode 11 was pretty bad. :/

The "industry experts" that populated the list seem to have very narrow taste. This is really disappointing. I hope more effort is put into next year's, if this idea isn't wholesale abandoned after it bombs.

I agree. No Fune wo Amu- Why? Because it wasn't on Crunchyroll so I guess nobody was watching it eh?

The only place I know of to legally view it in English was restricted to the UK, so that was no doubt a factor. Amazon has said they'll bring it to the US (and hopefully the other countries they've expanded to), but that hasn't happened yet.

I like this idea but like so many have already said the nominations are too restrictive and uniform. To the point where the results cannot be taken seriously. I guess it would be more work to include more shows, but I think that's only fair. If you are gonna do something then do it right, otherwise wait until you can do it right then! Especially for categories like show of the year.

The panel that picked these I never read reviews from

You have people on CR ( Paul Chapman / Issac ) that have a better grasp / ANN has a lot of reviews / but RABDOM Cursioty and Lost in Anime are the best people for reviews ( afrre ot Not ) their summarries are so in-depth !

I voted on ANN( Open vote on Shows )and the fan forum if somebody creates one >

I agree it didn't get not a single nomination and I can't wait to see Yuri on Ice to get robbed.
