Crunchyroll probably doesn't realize that literally no one is OK with these nominations.... Otherwise they would have changed them already.

Massive disappointment. Just the fact that the best animation list doesn't have Sound Euphonium 2, whose first season won ACTUAL awards and not just pointless fan polls, means that you lost all credibility on your nominations.

Repeating the same list of anime for multiple categories while having a worse selection than the Oscar nominations, or any other award nominations, will just make people dislike everything about your event. And this is the first year you're doing it! Way to ruin a fantastic idea...

I agree. No Fune wo Amu- Why? Because it wasn't on Crunchyroll so I guess nobody was watching it eh?

The only place I know of to legally view it in English was restricted to the UK, so that was no doubt a factor. Amazon has said they'll bring it to the US (and hopefully the other countries they've expanded to), but that hasn't happened yet.

yup... that would be the reason. I pretty much didn't care. It was my #1 anime I wanted to watch this season. I have a subscription to every single streaming service. I should have been able to view it. It was really annoying. March comes in like a Lion not being picked for anything was total crap though.

I'm surprised they don't have a jojo op as a nominee here, it's been a great year for jojo ops

All joking aside, I don't consider any of the people choosing the nominations for the categories as relevant enough to be conducive with what the 99% feel relevant. Alongside this corporate shit show, can we also have a membership voted on awards, where all content in each of the categories is offered up for nomination, and then the top five out of each category goes onto the final award choosing.

Did the judges watch Kabeneri like a week before voting, and that was the only show they remembered?

I'm scratching me head on this one. Only a few anime got multiple nominations out of so many aired this year. The total anime aired this year is likely near or over the 100 mark at this point. All in all, rather disappointing.

I'm really disappointed about the nominees.

I still can't believe how many nominations did Kabaneri and Joker Game get. Way too many than they should have.

There are still many awesome shows that didn't even get a chance. For example where is Haikyu!!, 91 Days, Food Wars and ReLIFE. Orange only got one category. Obviously Suwa (Orange) should have been in the Best Boy category. 91 Days should have been at least in the Opening category.

While it missed many popular and good shows, it also lacked in the category department; There could've been categories for original anime, adaptations (manga, game, visual and light novels), sequels as well as romance, sports etc. and even maybe for OVA and ONA.

Well there's always a chance that next year they are going to execute this whole nominations differently and let the community to decide the nominees and not only handful of people.

Nevertheless, I'm still going to vote and hope that all the prizes wouldn't go to same show... I'm looking at you certain someone that has 9/14 nominations.

>tfw you've seen none of the anime in "best anime" and you'd rather vote JJBA Diamond is Unbreakable, even though you haven't watched that either.

Megumin >>>>>>>>>> Rem. Konosuba >>>>>>>>> Re: Zero

Seriously, what in the world is with all this unjustified love for Kabaneri, Erased, Joker Game, and Yuri on Ice? They're nominated for everything, and they not that good. Seriously. There better be write ins, because there are some seriously weak candidates for some of these categories.

Screw it. My List.

Anime of the Year: Konosuba

Hero of the Year: All Might (My Hero Academia)

Villain of the Year: Reality (Konosuba) - real answer Betelgeuse (Re: Zero)

Best Boy: Ikoma (Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress) - dude is metal as f**k

Best Girl: Megumin (Konosuba)

Best Fight Scene: Vivio vs Rinne (Vivid Strike)

Best Animation: Flip Flappers

Most Heartwarming: Sound! Euphonium S2

Drama of the Year: Planetarian

Best Couple: Hazuki x SPOILER!!!!! (Sound! Euphonium S2)

Best Comedy: Konosuba

Best Action: Tales of Zestiria the X

Best Opening: Shanranran feat.96 Neko - miwa (Flying Witch)

Best Ending: Refrain Boy - All Off (Mob Psycho 100)

Only one I'm sitting there questioning is Satoru and Kayo from Erased as best couple. Huh, they weren't even a couple. Don't get that nomination, they could have at least fell back to obvious nominations such as Rem (or Emilia) and Subaru from Re:Life. No saying they are best choice just a better nomination. Sorry, I know the committee did a lot of work and I'm just being a backseat observer.

The list is extremely limited, I mean where's the nominations for 91 Days, Shokugeki no Souma S2, Ushio to Tora S2, ReLIFE, GATE: Jieitai Kanochi Nite Kaku Tatakaeri 2, Akagami no Shirayuki-hime 2, Dimension W, Hai to Gensou no Grimgar? I mean all the shows I listed were and are available to watch through legitimate sources like Daisuki, Funimation and Crunchyroll itself.

Sakamoto, Erased, 91 Days, Drifters, and Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans all had amazing openings yet the list is limited to only 4 options. Come on now, I would like to think they'll improve for next year's anime awards from all the feedback that is available.
